Whatcha watchin'?

A thread to discuss what movies or shows we're watching! New? Old? Whatever! The last one was mostly Dr. Who conversation so I figured we could just surrender that thread. Plus the naming of it was kinda weird and probably not conducive to attracting new members of the forums.

Myself, I'm re-watching Scrubs. I really love this show, I rewatch the series beginning to end pretty much every year. Turk and JD are just the perfect silly characters. Fun fact, In earlier seasons, Turk really goes nuts with sweet food. To the point that once he's actually just pouring sugar straight from the dispenser into his mouth. Later in the series? Gets diabetes.

That continuity right there.

So what are YOU watching?

Hey now! Why do you gotta remove the ironic subtitling referring to five year old movies.

I am currently in the middle of Riverdale, The Americans season 5 and Castlevania.

I support this thread, as I tried to create it before. As mentioned, though, people were vehemently opposed to it.

So my feelings might be a little hurt if it's welcomed with open arms.

Of course, GoT returns tonight so there is that.

This summer has not been my favorite for TV/Streaming.

Some of the things that I have been watching lately....
  • Orphan Black - I think they have gone a bit off from where I wanted them to take things but I still love me some Tatiana.
  • Wrecked - I don't know why I keep watching it but I do.
  • America Ninja Warrior -Tay and Hai love watching this.
  • Preacher - This is my kind of summer show.
  • Alone - I sometimes think I should be on one of these shows. Then I remember it was a lifetime ago that I actually spent time hunting/camping/fishing.
  • Castlevania - I liked it a lot but 4 episodes?
  • KillJoys/Dark Matter/Wynona Earp - It is SyFy Friday nights. I almost feel obligated to watch.

Things I still need to watch...
  • Blood Drive - It looks like stupid fun.
  • Glow
  • Orange is the New Black

Things I am most disappointed in this summer so far...
  • The Mist -meh
  • Salvation - Double meh.

Things I am most looking forward to while waiting for Fall TV to start again...
  • Game of Thrones
  • Ozark
  • Midnight, Texas
  • Rick and Morty
  • South Park

Like I said, I am not that thrilled with TV/Streaming this summer. I typically have something like AHC, History (rarely these days) or Science Channel playing in the background. I can't wait for Fall TV to return.

I just finished watching all of Game of Thrones for the first time in order to get up to date. I normally like waiting until a show is complete to watch it at my own pace, but I figured I could binge the first 6 seasons and then keep up with the rest as the come. I definitely enjoyed it, although there are several annoying traits to it. Looking forward to the new stuff.

I'm actually more excited about Rick and Morty returning, as it's probably my favorite show of the last several years.

For the first time ever I'm not really watching much. I binged season 2 of the Expanse a few weeks ago and the first season of American God's a few weeks before that. Both were good.

Right now the only show I'm actively watching on a weekly basis is Preacher. I'll likely binge Fear The Walking Dead, Killjoys, Dark Matter and Orphan Black later this year and I'll be binging GoT the week it wraps up.

You know, I started off loving the American gods series but by the end I hated it. I didn't even know what the Fuck I was watching by the end. I just expected it to follow a rough semblance of the book's plot. Shame on me.

I'm kind of with you. I didn't hate it but it definitely dropped a few or more notches from my original impression of it. I still loved every bit of The Expanse though.

You know I keep meaning to watch The Expanse, just never get around to it. Is it super dark and depressing, or is there levity?

The wife has been watching Christmas in July on the Hallmark channel. It's funny how everything looks so new, fresh and clean on those shows. As if no one has lived in those houses. Also, everyone in those shows are gated community people or above. It's kinda hard to relate to someone when they have a million dollar home and the fireplace is as long as my living room.

I can only binge one show at a time and right now, it is Treme. I watched seasons 1 & 2 like six years ago, but decided to restart it a week ago to refresh my memory. Started season 2 today. Once it is done, I will do either American Gods or Black Sails most likely.

Current TV wise, Game of Thrones, Tosh.0 and the Jim Jeffery's show are the only things I try to watch at their original airing time that are on the air currently. Watching most of the Gold Cup matches too once I get home from work.

It's a science fiction show by definition so your idea of uplifting and the like are just totally alien to it. If you mean firefly kinda stuff, definitely not.

Huh. You know, I was about to argue that not all science fiction is depressing but barring firefly,I can't come up with another example. Maybe Star Trek at times?

I mean the first act if the pilot had implied twincest, murder, Sexual Objectification of a Ginger, and statutory rape.

They could have named the series 'Archie just got lit yo!' and it wouldn't have been this successful. It is the most bizarre thing I have ever seen.
