Most of us had a good discussion in the Holy Crap thread. I didn't really care for any of the characters accept the kids.

The production design was top notch. Probably the best ever.

Finished the eighth episode at 1:00. This freaking season has NINE episodes. So now it's 2:14. Oh well, church isn't until 10:00 tomorrow. :/

I just finished S2 last night. A couple of misses, mainly that Eleven-only episode, but still plenty enjoyable.

The kid that plays Will is fucking amazing.

Yes, he was, wasn't he? A co-worker, who is a friend, but also often has bad opinions was saying how he was very disappointed with season 2. One of the reasons was the weakness of Will as a character. I don't get it.

The Chicago episode was not my favorite, definitely.

I don't like season 2, but it's not due to any of the actors.

It's completely weightless as a narrative. None of the main characters are ever in any actual danger (I never once thought they'd kill off or hurt any of the kids or Hopper/Joyce). Most of the characters act in unbelievable ways. Episode 7 was an abomination and a betrayal of Eleven's core character. They sidelined the best of the boys (Mike) and gave him exactly nothing to do al season.

The only thing I liked was Dad Steve.

Samwise was a main character... Sort of...

I'd be interested in some examples of people acting in unbelievable ways. That was a problem I had with season 1 as well, actually.

The Chicago episode was the best episode and all y'all are wrong.

2/3rd's of this season was a confused mess. You could start at Episode 6 and cut all the new characters and still get the same plot. The teenagers storyline was just plain worse.

The Chicago episode is the only one with clear focus. And the final 2 are amazing, redeem the whole season

Pom is correct that there is no sense of danger but nobody watched this show to see child murder; it was a sense of adventure and nostalgia, and a clear focussed plot. In Season 1, it was Find Will. In season 2 it was, Save Will? Find Eleven? Douchy Metalhead step-brother is a person?

It fell into every sequel trap it could. Still the ending is just so much fun.

I was watching the post mortem show and they mentioned having the greenlight for 1 or 2 more seasons so they'll shake things up I reckon plenty of room for it.

It's not so much child murder that people are looking for but where this show doesn't give me is the same level of terrified I was when watching sk's It. Be that on the antagonist not having the same presence or not but I was a kid when I read/watched It and that was some disturbing shit. Didn't stop me from going on to read The Stand or anything but yeah. I think the show needs a bit more heebeejeebees.

Wait are you talking about IT? The movie where a clown captures children and then let them go for no reason? or the miniseries which was exactly the same but with more camp?

The book was a lot better but the actual feeling that they could die was a possibility was there however now I just put it on being older and having seen evolved things from it that i didn't see when I was a little shit.
