WeekDAY gaming (9.11.17)- What are YOU still playing?

Going to start this weekDAY quietly due to another hurricane affecting some members in here. Here is hoping everyone and their families are doing ok.

Enjoy your week everyone.

What are YOU still playing?

Now you've made the thread sad! Still farting around in Doom and the current rotations of F2Ps.

Yeah, who'd have thought today of all days would be sad?

Yeah, its a bit of a weird day. Gorvi is typically the first or one of the first to post when I put up the DAY/END thread so it even hit home more when I didn't see his usual posting.

Hello? Anyone? Bueller?

*crickets*

Well, another busy week ahead for me, but when isn't that the case these days? I'm still plugging away on Pokemon bit by bit. My goal of finishing the game by the 15th is going out the window though. Maybe by the end of the weekend?

I hope Gorvi is okay. :/

Keck is off eating crepes, unless he's made it to Morocco by now.

Where the keck is Spigot?

I'm still here, El Guapo!

*dies*

I'm still playing Nier: Automata. Trying to finish up quests I missed in Part 1.

Hey, I'm right here! I just had a busy day and hadn't quite made it over here yet!

I hope that Gorvi is doing ok!

On my end of things, I've got a busy but interesting week ahead. Tomorrow I get to go and take my restraint recertification, so that's always a fun day.

In between restraints, I'm going to play:

Everybody's Golf (PS4) - I'm close to hitting Rank 3. Just need a few more XP to unlock the last rival for Rank 2 and then we'll see what happens next!

Tyranny (PC) - Got this last week and have been tinkering with it. It's interesting!

Tokyo Dark (PC) - This is pretty cool. It's a nice mix of adventure game & visual novel and I'm curious to see how the sanity system plays out. I'm the most inquisitive nutjob on the force right now, based on my stats.

Mario + Rabbid (Switch) - I'm just starting world 3. It's haaaard...

Ace Attorney: Spirit Of Justice (3DS) - Dear god, please let me finish the third case this week. It's all I ask...

Well, last night went far better than expected for my area. Irma went East a bit and hit land well South of us so it was only a category 1 by the time it hit us. I wouldn't even have left home for that. I did make it home today, worst I got was part of my fence knocked down and no power, but hopefully I'll have electricity back today. The kids and I all staying with my mom is far, far from ideal.

So life will go on, though schools are closed through at least Wednesday, which means either forced vacation days or trying to work from home. Neither is ideal.

Gaming will happen, though, but it'll be sporadic.

Final Fantasy XIV I'm almost done with the expansion story, I think. I'm very close to cap now.

Sly 2: Band of Thieves Not sure what prompted me to start this up. I never finished it back when it came out so I fired up the Vita version during the storm. These games are way too much fun.

Ys VIII If my LE ever gets here. I just got my shipping notification from NIS today but tracking isn't working just yet. Bleh.

Oh, I bless the rains down in Africa. I actually saw this thread shortly after it went up, but decided not to post because I obviously haven't been playing anything, and the somber tone. :/

Maize is a weird game. The first time I went through I was pretty sick at the time, and I thought it was funny. I suspect it was the NyQuil.

Then I played it through with a friend and was really disappointed in how bad the humor was, and by contrast how good the art and music was.

Oh, really? I have it on my wish list based on your original recommendation about the humor. Do you take it back?

Here's the thing. The humor tone is basically them *trying* to do the absurdist humor you see often in things like Monty Python and (probably closer) Wallace and Gromit.

Problem is, they're not really good at it, so if it clicks with you - like it did with me under the influence of cold medication - then you'll enjoy the humor. If it doesn't work for you - like say now - then you'll be really irritated with their attempts at being funny.

On the other hand, the Art in the game is *fantastic*. And the audio is amazingly well done, especially the song they give you at the end, which was so good I bought the soundtrack to get a copy of it.

So YMMV. I highly recommend you get it on sale.

For you it was like a traveling scene in early GoT episode.

I'm glad to hear that you are okay, Gorvi, and that you made it through the hurricane mostly unscathed.

Metroid: Samus Returns is getting great reviews. I am really pumped for the game, although I'm still going to try to stick to my guns and not start it until Pokemon is done. At least the main storyline, anyway.

Hopefully Metroid will really hook me once I start playing. It's been awhile since a game got its claws in me. Breath of the Wild did for a time, but it didn't last, though I plan on going back to it this winter.

I still haven't really been playing anything, so I think I'm going to try to get back into Steins;Gate. I should also try to finally finish the post-trial stuff in Danganronpa 2 so that I can start up Ultra Despair Girls and finish all of that before Danganronpa 3 comes out.
