Why sleeping with your feet against a wall is bad

I setup my room so one side of my bed is in the corner of my room. One night I decided to lie on the opposite side to watch some TV. MY feet were pushing against the wall.

I had a dream about me just kicking the wall as hard as I can with everything I had. I wake up. No hole in the wall so I'm cool. Go to stand up and all I feel is insane stabbing pain. Ladies and Gentlemen...I sprained my ankle in what I thought was a dream.

So I'm like..ahh fuck, and boy this mother fucker hurts so much. I take some aleeve and go alright tomorrow I'll be fine. I wake up and I'm still just as bad, my foot is swelling. Go check the aleeve box.. no Ibprofen in it.. Oh great so the pills did absolutely NOTHING for me.

So now I have to wait for the stores to open so I can go grab a bottle of Advil so I can get rid of this throbbing nightmare of pain. It hurts so much I can't sleep for more than 3 hours.

BTW it takes way too long to make Ice :'(

Why did I write this? No fucking idea. Figure you all would love to join in and make fun of me wrecking myself.

I once had a dream about being attacked, I'd been knocked down on my back and I kicked up with both feet at the attacker. At the moment I woke to feel my legs thud down on the bed and to see the duvet flying clear across the bedroom.

Get that bad boy wrapped when in use. Ice it when it's not in use. It should help control the swelling.

I was reading up on it. While waiting for the ice to get thick and strong, I put my foot into the bathtub with slightly cold water, dude it felt so fucking good I could almost sleep right there. I got some Advil. Once I get that going in my system the swelling should go down enough so I don't try to rip my ankle off from the throbbing pain.

You guys are awesome. Always there to help.

Also consider that non-flying insects can crawl up the wall and then jump onto your bed.

Try to keep that ankle elevated above your heart as well - that should also help with the swelling.

I had a dream once (while in Brazil) that I woke up and dropped and elbow down onto the bed as hard as I could (as if I were wrestling). A month or so later I discovered that it was not a dream - I had snapped a piece of wood under my mattress (about 1/2 inch thick) in half - through the 5 or 6 inches of foam in the mattress! It was so odd!

The average human eats 5-7 spiders a year while asleep. It's truuuueeee!

The number is different depending on the age of the home/apartment and if there are any insect eating animals in the house (like my cat who eats spiders all the time).

If you have one of these pillows I suggest putting it at the foot of the bed with your foot on it while sleeping. They work great for elevating feet. Learned this when I broke my toe.

Well, hell, I might as well throw in my own bit of advice. If you have a pair of binoculars, reverse them (so you're looking through the end you usually look out of) and stare at your foot for a bit. I've never actually tried it, but I hear it may make pain and swelling decrease, so what have you got to lose?

Actually I thought this was just a myth. Spiders have no reason to go near our mouths which are warm and windy while we sleep.

Twice now in my sleep I've gotten in trouble because in my dream I've kicked someone, unfortunately that someone turns out to be my GF in the non dreaming world :P

Apparently mythbusters has busted this myth.

I'll just have you all know that the thread title preview from the front page made all kinds of promises that this thread can't keep.
