Is Force Unleashed Worth $14?

I mean, I know it wasn't what people expected and wasn't the best game, but in my experience very few games aren't worth that much. We're selling it brand new (at Game Crazy)for right around $14 (PS3 and X360), should I pick it up?

Hell yes. That game is a LOT of fun. See if you can handle it on the Hard difficulty... it's a really fun game.

Yes! I say beat it on normal and play through in a New Game + on Hard! Force powers are pretty amazing.

I agree with the other guys. I picked it up for $20 new and think it would have been worth it for $30-40.

Has anybody tried the DLC for it yet?

I've been told it's one of the best Star Wars stories out there and the demo wasn't horrid. These two reasons keep me looking out for it on the cheap, but I haven't seen any deals that good. I would grab it if I were in your shoes.

Keep an eye on Amazon. Last Monday it was on sell for $20. That's when I picked it up.

Absolutely. I had a lot of fun with it.

Like others have said, it doesn't really kick off until you've powered up a significant amount and there are more than a few really cheap encounters/enemies but there are a few flashes of excellence that'll make it worth the $15.

Yes. Even worth full-price to me. The upgrading system makes the game different for multiple play-throughs.

14 bucks is good for it. It's short though, so be warned.

My wife beat it without even realizing it. She got to the point where you make the choice to fight the emperor or kill Darth Vader, and we BOTH thought it was the major 'decision' point of the game. Shocked the hell out of us after the credits started to roll.

Not worth it. Don't get me wrong, I actually really liked the game. Unfortunately, it gets pretty repetitive, almost to the point that you don't feel like playing anymore. Right before it gets so bad that you think you'll stop, the game is over. It's fun, short, has a good story, and is definitely worth playing once.

Not worth paying more than the price of a rental, though.

Well, I'll pick it up tomorrow. If they haven't caught the price and changed it, that is (we were selling new copies of Two Worlds for $5 for a while ).

I enjoyed it a lot, and I'm glad I played it. I think it looks great (certain planets, like the junkyard one especially) and the gameplay is fun, with the upgrade system adding a little depth to the game. Some of the combos you can pull off are grat fun.

At certain points it can be frustrating, and there's one bit in particular which could end up with some broken controllers, but those aside, I'd say it's definitely worth it.

Well at Wal-mart the game seems to have dropped down to 29.99 new for PS3/360 versions, and 19.99 for the Wii version. So I don't know how that will translate for used prices on the title now.

Yes.

Grab a friend and take turns each level. It's a fairly short game and you can have a couple of beers and maybe a fatty or two and beat it in one sitting.

Yea, for that much I'd buy it. I bought it for a little more I think and traded it in when I was done.

Good times lobing stormtroopers about.

I love how people have no problem paying $12 for a meal that will turn to shit in a matter of hours or the same price for a movie that last only around 2 hours but God forbid we pay a whopping $14 for a fun game that at worst will last 6-8 hours. Most people pay the same or more for a DVD and it's the same exact 2 hour experience over and over.

You've got a point...but food is a little different than entertainment. With food you know what you're getting, and generally you've got the money set aside for that specifically. I mean...it's not like you go to lunch and have to decide 'Hm...Big Mac with a Coke or Force Unleashed....With a Coke' But either way with food: you eat it to live...sure you don't have to buy 12 bucks worth of it, but if that's your food budget/appetite, then there ya go.

Entertainment is an investment. Something you could see yourself doing over and over again because it's enjoyable (Movies are exactly this)...if it's not enjoyable, you've just wasted X amount of money and it'll either sit on your shelf forever, or get you 5 bucks store credit at EB Games. For 14 dollars it's a solid investment...but not one you'll repeat. The Light and Dark side options aren't all that great/fleshed out feeling, and the game ends ABRUPTLY. Personally, I'd rather spend that 14 bucks on some other bargain bin title or used game but that's just me.
