[E3 09] Kojima-Produced Castlevania: Lords of Shadows Announced

Today a the Konami press conference they announced a new Castlevania title for the 360 and PS3.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadows, set for a 2010 release, is being developed by Spanish dev studio MercurySteam, but Kojima Studios is producing the game. It's an open world action title with action reminiscent of the God of War series.

This is the title that had been teased for the last few days with the "Mask" teaser.

I've added some screenshots and concept art Konami sent us. We hope to have the trailer up later today

Update (6/4): PR piece finally came out with lots of info, it can be found in this post in the thread.

Finally. A 3D Castlevania that could be good! I know Kojima is possible of good games, just look at ZOE and ZOE 2.

I was playing Force Unleashed the other day and I thought how similar Otogi was. I think a new Otogi would do nicely. I wonder what From Software will do next.

I love me some Castlevania, and I can't wait to get some more details about this. I'd still love to see a 2D one with the PS3/360 hardware being pushed. I mean shit, Odin Sphere was on the PS2, and it's one of the best looking games around. I'd love to see Castlevania have a look like that.

This is the trailer from last October, not the new one shown at the presser.

Nintendo hatred aside, if there's anyone that could make a decent 3D Castlevania game then it's Kojima.
