XBOX Originals Is No More

Well, that's not entirely true. There will be one final release. What that is, we don't know yet. IGN reports:

Xbox Originals, the program that puts Xbox 1 titles on Marketplace for download is coming to a close. With the impending arrival of downloadable retail games on Xbox Live, Microsoft has "finished it's portfolio" of Xbox Originals. One more game (still to be announced) will be made an Original soon. But after that no more Xbox Originals will see the light of day.

We can hope and pray that the final title is exactly what we want but let's face it, one will never be enough. Still, I hope it's KotOR.

Too bad they're not extending this, though. I can't think of any reason a publisher wouldn't want their entire catalog on there, save the ones that have 360 versions.

360 BC is a joke, even the shit they say works doesn't really, the whole thing was basically a lie from the start.

Bullshit. All of my Xbox titles work fine, and most even better than they did on the Xbox 1 (mmm, upscaled graphics)...

I was trying to play KOTOR about a month ago and all it was was glitchy graphics and sound. It was almost unplayable. I'm glad they gave up on BC because it just wasn't working. I'm all about new anyway.

The only Original that I have is Psychonauts, which seemed to work fine.

While the concept of BC is appealing, I would much rather them spend their money and time working on cool new stuff.

And everyone still jumps on Sony for cutting BC. But then again, PS2 library is more awesome then Xbox library.

As much as this sucks, I can see why MS would do this. I played through Sands of Time again the other day. The bonus versions of Prince of Persia 1 & 2 didn't work, though I can forgive them for not bothering to emulate that. But the game itself didn't run very well. There were constant framerate drops through the game, although most of them were workable. Of course every time the lighting got complex the game would turn into the Matrix and that made combat a little confusing. Timing your counters is a little tough when you have no idea how the console is going to process your input.

Bullshit? Fuck you, typical fucking childish "it doesn't happen to me so it doesn't happen at all" garbage. Go play Mercenaries, a superior game to its sequel, fucking thing slowly gets more corrupted as it goes along before finally freezing.

Christ when you buy a Xbox Original title it tells you there can problems with the emulation.

I never tried any of the original series, but I has always assumed they were specifically chosen/emulated to run better than the usual BC titles. Aside from Rogue Trooper, most were pretty bad. Glad I never bothered.

I didn't think anyone really cared all that much after the first 'under promised and over delivered' speech.

I care a little, it's kind of annoying to have essentially 100% emulation on my Wii and PS3 and have to keep the original Xbox plugged in. Honestly the most annoying thing is having to look up games and see which Xbox I should put them into. I still have no idea why Thief 3 works but Invisible War doesn't.

i got a stack of xbox1 games (mainly the Tom Clancy ones) and KOTOR & 2 but I think I'll just pick up a cheap xbox1 to play them on.
