[E3 09] C.O.P. The Recruit Announced for the DS

Dan Miles and Detective Brad Winters come from two different worlds, Dan from one of underground street racing and Brad from one of detecting. But when their paths cross, their lives change forever. This unlikely duo may be New York's last line of defense against a mysterious terror organization bent on mass destruction. In C.O.P., which stands for Criminal Overturn Program, the player takes on the role of reformed street racer Dan as he goes undercover to infiltrate this clandestine ring of ne'er-do-wells. C.O.P. The Recruit promises a sandbox environment, sixty frames per second, twenty hours of gameplay, mic support, strategic elements, animated cutscenes and stylus integration. Needless to say, it sounds ambitious. We'll see if Ubisoft can deliver.

Do you think they can do it?

Little by little he gets wrapped up in a deadly, widespread conspiracy and must work to prevent a potentially catastrophic attack on the city.

Sounds like it could be a great story line, especially for the DS. Let's hope the writing pans out!

Yea lets hope. I have a feeling it might lean towards the cheesier end of the things. Call me a cynic.

For just a moment, I read this as O.C.P. and thought that maybe we had some sort of Robocop game on our hands. That would be incredible.

Oh, well...

Have you downloaded Final Fight: Double Impact for the Xbox 360 yet? If not, what are you waiting on? You and I could be playing co-op right now, and it would be completely badass!

Go download the game, send me an invite while you're at it and we'll play. Go on! Get on and download it. Then get back to me.

Interesting concept. It has me wondering, though. Has there ever been a game that simulates trying to run a police force in a city? More on the realistic side, although naturally a bit exagerrated.
