[E3 09] Tatsunoko vs Capcom Screens & News

Click to see the rest of the images

Another quirky fighter coming to US shores thanks to Capcom. Tatsunoko vs Capcom is a Wii title pitting some of Capcom's best against characters from the Tatsunoko animation house. Apparently the US version loses one Tatsunoko fighter (for licensing reasons), but gains 5 other characters and online play. Sure, it's on the Wii so online play isn't as big a deal, but take the good where you can get it.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom is scheduled for a Q4 release on the Wii.

I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to know who they lost, and who we've gained. I'm pretty sure that we've gotten five Capcom characters, and not being a Takara fan, it can only be a plus for me.

Oh shit...that's pretty cool.

This is a great game that deserves a larger audience. I'm certain the Wii's netplay won't be able to support the 60fps action and twitch responses necessary for effective play, so the online announcement doesn't mean much at all.

I hope DMC's Dante makes an appearance.

I have to think they lost a character due to licensing. It can't be due to the obscurity of the character as that would nix a lot more than one from the roster.

Edit: Also, can't wait to play as Cassern in a videogame.

Judging from the picture, the guy has the power to kick a woman in her uterus and it EXPLODES?!

This bears more investigation.

I don't think you can play 2 player fucking pong on the Wii network without it lagging. Worst online ever.

For every few games that you can list that actually work decently on the Wii online I can list 10 that don't. Honestly it is fucking horrible. I had a better online experience with my fucking SNES and Xband.

Gameplay like Rival Schools = guaranteed purchase for me. And I agree with the otherrs its probably one of the anime/manga characters that was 'lost'.

Is there a decent arcade stick or "fighter" pad for the Wii? I can't even begin to imagine the pain it would cause me to play this with a Wiimote or Classic controller, but damn I SOOOO wanna play this.

I play it with a Wavebird just fine. Actually I think I play all the Wii fighting games with a Wavebird acceptably.

Yea, a Wavebird with a 2D fighter just ain't gonna cut it for me. I'd rather slam my dick in a car door. Same amount of pain, but less bullshit.

I haven't tried it, but there is a Hori stick that looks very similar to the Fight Stick 3 I use on the PS3.

That doesn't all that different from Xbox Live either. FEAR 2 and Space Invaders Extreme are the two most recent travesties I can remember attempting to play.

Oh yeah there are games for the 360 that aren't up to snuff online. My experience is just the opposite as the Wii experience though. There are a ton of games that work great online, with a few that don't work well.
