Fallout 3 DLC Coming to PS3 and 2 More DLCs Planned

Bethesda sent us word this morning that the current DLC packs for Fallout 3 available on the 360 and PC will be making their way over to the PS3.

According to the word we got, Operation: Anchorage will be released for PS3 in late June, followed by the release of The Pitt and Broken Steel 4-6 weeks apart.

Along with this also comes word of not one, but two more DLCs coming to all the platforms (360, PC, PS3).

Quote:
Point Lookout – Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content.

Mothership Zeta – The aliens have returned, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.
Read the next post for even more info about when these will be available and DLC packs Bethesda will be releasing

Point Lookout will be available in late June for Xbox 360 and PC. Cost will be 800 points or $9.99. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live and through token cards available at retail. Point Lookout will be available on PS3 after the first three DLCs have been released.

Mothership Zeta is scheduled for release in late July for Xbox 360 and PC. Cost will be 800 points or $9.99. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live and through token cards available at retail. Mothership Zeta will be available on PS3 after Point Lookout.

Along with those, Bethesda also released information on DLC packs as well as a Game of the Year edition coming in October:

Quote:
Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #1 includes The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage on a disc and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC on May 26.

The Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #2 includes Broken Steel and Point Lookout on a disc and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC in August.

Retail versions of the game add-on packs for PS3 are not possible and the DLC will only be available for download online via PlayStation Network.

A Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition will be available in October. It will include the original game plus all five add-ons for $59.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and $49.99 for PC.
Point Lookout will be shown at E3 and Psykoboy2 (Scott) has a meeting with Bethesda during his time there, so expect some details on it.

That's good news for everybody. PS3 owners get the old DLC and everyone gets the new stuff.

Are not possible? That sounds strange. I can understand them saying they don't want to release a GOTY edition so soon after releasing the packs on PSN, but not possible? What's up with that?

The DLC seems interesting, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to justify all the money it would cost to get them when they finally start happening on the PS3. I was hoping to wait it out and trade in my copy for a GOTY edition. Oh well.

edit: In one of the other news stories, it says PS3 owners will be getting the GOTY edition, just not the individual discs. That's good news to me.

Well, look at you and your fancy "sources".

I'll be waiting for the GotY Edition, which has been the plan pretty much all along.

I don't see three threads, you guys must be smoking something

Seriously though, not each post was the exact same. It's hard for us to know that more than one of us is covering something at the same time. I happened to check my e-mail and the Marketing guy over at Bethesda sent me an e-mail about this and I didn't see anything when I started doing it.

I've enjoyed the two DLC packs I've tried so far and have Broken Steel queued and ready to go. I'm all for crazy stuff like the alien abduction AND a new area to tromp around in.

Bring it on!

Phew. I thought I was the only person who did a quick scan of the article to see why they were bringing it to the PS2.
