Australian town quietly invaded with tarantulas
I saw this article and thought I should share.
A town in Queensland is starting to see an invasion of tarantulas due to unusual amounts of rain. Apparently these things can get about as big as your hand. They usually aren't lethal to humans but can make you very sick. Looks like it's time to start carrying a bat or some other smashing implement if you live out that way. Source - Times Online

My advice to the residents of that town: RUUUUUUNNNN! Don't stop, don't slow down. Just RUUUUNNNN.

Someone really needs to invent some little keyfob or something that really aggravates insects so they stay away from you. Some frequency that makes them want to run like I do when I see a giant spider. I would buy that product and keep it very near me at all times. I hate spiders.

Eh, Sydney is infested with Funnel Webs and you'll find loads of Red Backs pretty much everywhere (don't put exposed flesh next to storm water drains) and lets not even get into White Tails.
This is what living in this country is like, death around every corner from the wild life. |

That would be the important part. If it worked I would gladly spend a decent amount of money on them. I hate spiders.

I hate spiders too, hell of a place to live.
For the record, tarantulas are nothing in size compared to the huntsmans, those things can be as big as your head. |

Did you expect the town to be invaded noisily?

Who knows, maybe the spiders have a battle cry. Not all invasions are clandestine in nature.

Fear the mighty Tuskbull!

Australian spiders are so bad-ass that they have been found wearing the noise generators, listening to them like an MP3 player, laughing.
Laughing at you, Hunter. Waiting for you... under your bed while you sleep. Bwah-ha-ha!

I would assume if a legion of tarantulas began their invasion of a town with an audible battle cry, it would be the sound of my nightmares.

Light in the darkness

Oh, these are the bird eating ones. Any spider that grows big enough to feed on birds can not be natural... o_0
