The LittleBigPlanet Splooge Thread

What do you plan to do with the game when you get it?
Plan to just peruse other users creations, or any ideas on making your own?

One game I loved as kid was The Lost Vikings.
I loved how you intertwined the three fellas to accomplish goals.

I don't have anything planned yet (I'll have to see exactly what is available to me to use, first), but I'm going to work on game meant for at least two (mostly so I can get my friends involved and have fun with them) that will (hopefully) have massive cooperation between those playing to accomplish various tasks and to progress. I'm so stoked.

What're your ideas?

I'd like to come up with something Lovecraftian I think. Could be a lot of fun just playing around in his world and building it.

I'm just planning on playing a shitload of user levels at first. So far as my own level, I haven't given it too much thought. I guess once I get some more time with the beta (and the retail game soon) some ideas will come to me.

I'll say one thing, this game will be keeping me busy for a very, very long time.

According to the Penny Arcade column today, there's already a truckload of user created levels. This will be the game that keeps on giving.

Too bad they all get deleted after the beta is over.

I'm not sure that's entirely true. I've seen it said in a few places that they'll be keeping some. Of course, I've also seen it said that they won't be.

There are a ton of levels out there now. Unfortunately, some can be very discouraging. Anybody see the functional calculator and the Final Fantasy music levels? Insane.

I'd say it's pretty official via Leo Cubbin of Media Molecule: http://www.littlebigmadness.com/news...ls-are-doomed/

He does give the caveat that they "may" bring over the best levels.

Given that it seems this game will only be available on disc, my interest dropped immeasurably.

What? No....what??

Anyway.... I plan on playing a lot of the standard levels on co-op with Mrs TheSquid, then jumping online, trying player created stuff with Mrs TheSquid and some other friends. That may all go out the window, I have no plan set in stone, other than having a lot of fun, and customizing my Sackboy a lot. That sounds odd.

My desire to waste my life with the American retail experience, goes down markedly during "Mouth Breathing, ignorant, whore born, CHUDs flood the stores season;" Commonly known as the Holiday buying season.

I might grab it on Amazon, but compared to Fallout, L4D which will be downloaded to my PC, I doubt that will happen.

So you don't want to leave your chair and get it in a store and you don't want to order it online because, well, you don't want to. Sounds to me like you simply don't want the game.

I do, but just like when I ask you to blow me, I expect my games to deliver the moment I desire them The longer I have to wait, the more likely I am to move on. Same reason I go to Hulu over Blockbuster.

Is it lazy that waiting for or having to suffer to be entertained takes a back seat to being conveniently entertained? Convenience and ease is the biggest reason I like my PC, any game, downloaded fast.

Going to retail is suffering? Waiting for a product to arrive in the mail is suffering? Man, the military would eat you alive.

And in Soviet Russia, Game plays you.

Look, I expect my fun to fall about my feet and do my bidding.

Plus, if you saw some of the fucking chodes working at most stores, you would call it suffering.

Don't get me wrong, I'm rather aware of the knuckle-draggers. Detestable creatures. It just piqued my interest in what seemed like interest deterred by the need of going/waiting. In all fairness though it's a discussion beyond that of this particular venue so I'll let it go at that. I just hope such choice doesn't result in certain gifts eluding you.

More that given the choice of the lines and waiting for a disc of LBP over my download of L4D or Fallout 3, I choose the latter. I firmly live and embrace our on demand world. I would not stand in line any more than most people would make time in their lives to watch a TV show over using their DVR.

People who know me also know that I tend to be OCD over "wasted" or idle time. Other than sleep, I detest any time where I am not engaged in some activity. I hate commutes, travel(prefer red eye to lessen crowds and allowing me to sleep. If I am not doing something I have to do, or something I want to do, I am wasting time for both.

You glossed over my BJ joke nicely though.
