Some really cool stuff. It was announced by Eidos and Warner Bros. Interactive just exactly what would be in the Collector's Edition of the game, due in stores on June 9th.

Take a look there at what you get. You know...other than the batarang.

14" Batarang with stand - Matches the Batarang’s in-game design
Arkham Doctor’s Journal - 48 pages of notes on Arkham’s inmates (all collected within an embossed leather dust jacket)
2 Sleeve Digi-pack, including: Game disc, Behind-the-scenes DVD, Code for downloadable Challenge Map, Exclusive “Crime Alley” map, available immediately, and a full-color Manual

No official price has been announced yet for the Collector's Edition, although some sites have it listed for $99.99

Unlike the picture suggests, the PC version will not get a collector's ed. Regular edition's still $50 though.

Is the Batarang cheap and plastic, or can I take out someone's eyes. That will determine my willingness to buy my first collector's edition ever.

I want it, but I can't convince myself to pony up the extra cash. Yet.

yeah. it looks cool but if you really drop a hundred bucks on this, even if the game gets an 8.5 or higher you need some help.

People spend way more than $40 on collectibles all the time. Considering you get two pieces of DLC (or bonus content), two collectible physical items and a special case (with the behind the scenes stuff), it doesn't seem very pricey at all.

But what do I know, I've had it preordered as soon as I found out what was in it. Also, I got the Halo 3 Legendary Edition when it first came out, though that's the only other Collector's Edition I've bought.

The 14" Batarang replica will help me fight crime! Unless that's not the kind of help you were talking about.
I can't really spend $99 on a game these days though.

Seconded, though unlike torre I'm generally a whore for CEs. If the game is good and the batarang made of something decent I'll bite. I also dig the leather dust jacket & journal.

but what do you do with it when you're done with the game? its not like that stuff appreciates in value. plus the legendary h3 kit I saw for $30 at RCSS. Personaly, I don't see that its worth shelling out more than $10 extra for a collector's edition. If you've got the money to spend on a CE then by all means collect.

I wasn't letting this game get my hopes up but the more I see of it, the more it's moving into my must-buy pile.

This CE looks almost worth getting. It all depends on how much they charge. I can handle $79 (a la the Fallout 3 lunchbox) if the game is great and they have all of this swag. If it's much higher, I'll wait to see if it's discounted down the line. I definately CAN'T spend $99+ on it.
