Wii Sports Resort, Motion Plus, Launch in July

Nintendo has announced that Wii Sports Resort, and the Wii Motion Plus accessory which will be included with it, will ship in June in Japan and July in North America. The Wii Motion Plus will also be sold separately at that time.

Wii Motion Plus will increase the sensitivity of the Wiimote, giving it essentially one-to-one sensitivity.

I'm still anxious to hear what an individual motion plus add-on will cost. *sigh* I'm sure I'll outfit all four of my remotes regardless. If what I've heard so far is true from hands on impressions, it will be worth it.

If what was true of the original Wii Remote from hands on impressions, this wouldn't be necessary.

I'll get the MotionPlus that comes with the game, but if another costs more than $9.95 then I am not interested.

I forget...if you have the motion plus will it improve on older games or does the newer games have to have it added within the game to detect the new motion plus?

No, it only works on games that have been built to support it.

And I believe you have to take it off to play older games or use accessories like the Nunchuck(?). If that is the case it seems pretty poorly designed. Why can't they just put another connector on the bottom like the old remotes.

You can use the nunchuck with it (if you look at the pic you'll see a tab or door at the end of the Motion Plus where it plugs in) but I've yet to hear definitively if you can play old games with it on the controller. It certainly won't make a gameplay difference if you can, though.

I'll pass unless Nintendo shows me something absolutely whiz-bang to use it with. Nothing that I've seen in the Resort is compelling me to get another tchotchke for the Wii.

If it makes putting worthwhile in a golf game for the Wii, I'm on board. I think it sounds pretty cool. It's just a shame it didn't ship with the system. Makes you wonder how far away the Wii2 is.

Great, now all they need is Wii Graphics Plus to up the graphics to at least 720p and make every title (not 10% of them) actually FILL a 16:9 set.

See the little thing on the bottom? That's a cover that comes off to reveal a pass-through port. Wii Sports Resort's jet ski game uses both the MotionPlus and the Nunchuk.

This isn't surprising. Nintendo has long been King of the Peripherals, although Microsoft isn't far behind.

More like 36-hour Cialis.
