There's only one Big Sister though, who is a boss that comes from time to time.

Which I thought was played off of the "Rosie the Riveter" image from that era. I had thought the Big Daddy was a female inside when I played it. Of course..that's just my interpretation from all the found diaries etc.

Hmm. . . Big Daddy's were interesting because they moved fast and got up on you in a flash with mega-damage. It was a lot of fun thinking of ways to beat them (especially at lower levels before you became as much of a badass). How do you make Big Sisters different enough from that? We already got a nice range of Big Daddy's that used different weapons and AI, so you can't just make Big Sisters ranged and forget about it.
I'm honestly interested in how they are going to evolve the themes of the first game. What made Bioshock great, instead of merely good, was that it had something to say in addition to having great gameplay and fantastic technology. A sequel that is meaningless or that merely mimics the message of the original instead of evolving those themes is what I fear. Mostly I'm excited though. I'm afraid it will be a cash grab, but I'll definitely play it and if the previews alleviate my worries I'll be at the midnight opening with cash in hand. |

Some more new info. You are "the" Big Daddy, the original, who somehow has the ability to inject plasmids.

Best news out of the GI article? You can use guns/drill in one hand and plasmids on the other simultaneously. No alternating needed.
Worst news? Just about everything else. Playing as the original prototype Big Daddy? Not really interested at this point unless they make some really player-friendly decisions that have to be retconned into the Rapture mythology. |

I personally also don't look forward to going to back to Rapture. It was cool environment to visit the first time around but it was pretty depressing and washed out place. I understand that with a title called BIO-Shock it pretty much has to involve water, but why do they have to do the same time period again too? They could have a Neo-Rapture set 100 years in the future with its own style rather than the same sepia toned 1950's again. Or the could make it exactly the same so that they could reuse most of graphical resources and whip out the sequel with in a year. Guess which option they chose... I look forward to whatever it is 2K Boston is working on. Bioshock 2, not so much. But then again, I never thought the game needed a sequel. It seemed like a cash in attempt from the start. Sadly, this article did nothing to convince me otherwise. Last edited by EternalGamer; 03-18-2009 at 07:34 AM. |

Okay, so now that we have details....
I dislike a lot of the ideas revolving around it, although I do think the Big Sister stuff is cool. We'll see how things come along. I wouldn't mind a return to Rapture, if the areas felt different enough. If it';s like EG says, and they just reuse most the resources, it's going to be kind lame. Coop sounds sweet though, although how that's implemented kinda scares me. Feeling alone was one of the cool parts of Bioshock. We'll see, but this info is kinda disheartening. I think I'm looking forward to Arkham more now, since it seems like it'll have that Bioshock kinda feel. |

When did the news of Co-op come out? It wasn't in the Game Informer article. It merely said that there was some type of multiplayer they weren't talking about yet.

That was I figured it was. What I would like, though I think it probably sounds silly, would be if a second player was able to play as hacked turrets and flying bots.

Uh, no. It is not. Whether SS 3 ever comes to light, remains to be seen.
