LittleBigPlanet and MotorStorm Coming to PSP

Sony revealed that the Playstation Portable will be the system to beat in the coming year. New iterations of top-shelf PS3 titles LittleBigPlanet and MotorStorm will be gracing the PSP sometime in 2009.

In addition to those Sony titles, Ubisoft announced that they will be bringing a miniature version of Assassin's Creed to the PSP. MTV Games and Harmonix are also working on a portable version of Rock Band called Rock Band Unplugged.

Good for them, but I would still be more interested in the PSP if more completely unique properties came out on it.

Whoa, portable Rock Band. Sounds like Frequency 3.

Edit:
Quote:
Tracks are broken down into what are called “phrases.” Play a phrase perfectly to earn a multiplier boost and a prompt to switch to a different instrument. The player can actually choose to switch instruments at anytime, but switching prematurely will cause him to lose his multiplier. “Overdrive,” used to rack up big points and avoid failing a track, is of course included as always.
Holy shit, this IS Frequency 3!

The way Frequency works, multiplayer is fun, but not necessary like it is in RB proper.

I'm hoping this does well enough for us to get an XBLA/PSN Frequency game, with a music store and lots of electronica.

Who, HOLD the PHONE. Even bigger news regarding the PSP has just been brought to light.

Apparently Sony will be selling a Hanna Montana bundle that includes a lilac-colored PSP.

Friends. This is what dreams are made of.

They've done that a bit, with stuff like Jeanne d'Arc, Locoroco, and Patapon. I like the extensions of existing series, though, games like God of War, Syphon Filter, WipEout, Hot Shots Golf, and Daxter (among others) have all been very, very good.

Portable LBP and Motorstorm make me happy. Now they just need to announce that you can transfer stuff between LBP PSP and LBP on the PS3 and that'll be the icing on the cake.

It is kind of dreamy.

Fair enough. It just feels like all the development for the PSP has been on the PS2.

I would like more high impact new titles on PSP. Buzz is low. It's a port machine for the most part.

A lot of the games have been based on existing properties, but I like that. Nintendo does that well, too, with the DS. Heck, I can't think of a DS game from Nintendo outside of Brain Age that I've enjoyed that wasn't based on an existing Nintendo property.

What was the last high profile port you can remember on the PSP? Other than some JRPGs, that I think most people wanted anyway, the vast majority of PSP games are original.

That is the first thing that I thought of when I saw the announcement. Great cross-platform downloads/compatability would be a huge selling point for the PSP title.

Considering I don't own a PS3, I think I want all those games. Probably only get a couple, though.

Motorstorm looks pretty solid. I really need to get some more games for my PSP. Lumines is still the only game I own. I have a partial addiction to the 60 sec time trial.

Really? Sorry for the thread derail, but I own something like 15 DS games, only some 3rd of them are close analogues to current-gen games.

No, I meant from Nintendo themselves, I thought we were talking about first party stuff. Both systems have quite a few games based on original properties.
