Bad news, Dipswitch Fans...:(

Okay,

I write and draw Dipswitch. Sadly, my Wacom has been harmed in a dire fashion. An animal, it seems, gnawed on the shiny gold cable that gives the tablet life.

It is dying, soon to die....and then...

Well, I'm looking for an affordable tablet solution.

But, there may be a slowdown in productivity at the comic.

If anyone knows how to get a new tablet at rock bottom prices, please let me know.

Edit! Getting a new Intuos tomorry!

For the help, I'm going to give CoG some new Non-gaming related Dipswitch chocolatey goodness!

It was a little 'un. Graphire CTE 430.

There's a post on slickdeals about a Wacom Intuos 4"x6" for $120 - $40 mail in rebate, so about $80. Though it was on clearance at Best Buy, so YMMV... Looks like it retails for $200.

Well I guess it depends on whether other Best Buy stores also have it on clearance. Couldn't hurt to check, if you have one nearby.

Also, if another fan o' the Dip wants to throw me an extra crappy one they gots lyin' around I wouldn't be angry.

I'd even put them in a future comic!

(This shouldn't stop the comic from going up on schedule.)

It was my filthy cat, Thera. She is a horrid little beast, who gnaws on shiny things. Apparently WACOM puts the USB cabling in a clear sheath wrapped with shiny bindings.

She's a mean little bugger, who hides shiny stuff or chews on it.

It's cool, though.

I'm buying a new one...found out that Sam's has the model above.!!!

Do you have electric tape and/or a soldering iron? You can reconnect the cut cable. It doesn't look pretty but it works.

Even taking it to a local electronics shop you might come across someone who could repair it for ya. There's a few places here that do warranty work for most electronics so seeking out a shop like that would be the best bet if that type of job is out of your league.

Only, the deal I have now, I'll be getting Elements and Corel with the IntuOs.
Also, the brother in law's an electrician. It will be ugly, but it will be the backup, methinks.
