Are you sure about that? The Two Towers is (IMHO of course) more entertaining than The Fellowship of the Ring, and I would say that X-Men 2 was significantly better than the first one. We won't speak of X-Men 3.

Also, The Dark Knight was better than Batman Begins.

Ahh, thought I might've misread your post. It's been a long time since I've watched Gattaca, but I don't recall them being coy about it.

But that insinuates that any of those was worth anything, so that they could even be compared.

I would disagree, though apparently I'm in the minority.

I would've agreed with that after first seeing Dark Knight, but after subsequent viewings, I'm not even sure about that.

Though, realistically, I agree, there are some. For instance, Evil Dead II, Dawn of the Dead, Mad Max 2, and Aliens. (And maybe the LotR films. I wouldn't know. I loved the idea, and the world, but just couldn't get into them.)

It saddens me when I meet someone who doesn't like the LOTR movies.

The people who saw T1 first. Terminator was a low-budget sci-fi movie, with action in it. T2 was an action movie, with sci-fi elements. I prefer the latter, but some people love the former and treat the sequel as an abomination.

Its the same with Alien and Aliens. I haven't seen both, so no preference there!

EDIT: And no Dark Knight is better than Batman Begins at all levels.

Also, I just finished JSA. "What's important in battle isn't speed. It's carrying yourself with composure and bravery."

Brilliant movie that. Also, is Kang-ho Song in EVERY Korean movie worth watching or what?

Alien is the superior movie. Ridley Scott > James Cameron. Not really crapping on Cameron, as he is very good. He definitely knows how to make an action flick.

The action sequences are some of the best I've ever seen, but there isn't enough of them and the stuff in between just isn't interesting enough to keep me watching.
I'm glad I'm not alone in not loving the LotR movies.

Watch Dazed & Confused. Best high school movie ever, IMO.

That's the thing, Alien and Aliens are two different kinds of movies, hence the wide difference on which one is better.

Same with 2001 and 2010.

Alien and Aliens are both great at what they do. Alien is a horror flick and Aliens is an Action Sci-Fi flick. And they are both great examples of their genres. I usually enjoy watching Aliens more, just because I don't enjoy the horror genre as much. Plus, I just love the sound of pulse rifles.

I can see that. I love good horror movies, so that is probably why.

I am sorry, but there is no way any movie ever can be better than 2001.
