Paradise By the $20 Dashboard Light

By the time you read this, Burnout Paradise should be retailing for no more than $20 on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Yup, that's right, it's now $20.

Let's see, for $20 you could get either:

1. $20 worth of groceries
2. Three months of Xbox LIVE
3. 1600 Microsoft Points
4. One $20 PlayStation Network card
5. A hardcover book
6. A good meal at your favorite restaurant
7. A suitcase of beer
8. A good bottle of wine
9. A DVD
10. Burnout Paradise

I'll let you decide.

Ordinarily I would post this in the Deals and Trading forum, but this is simply too good to miss!

I need some advice on how to get into this game. Being dropped in and being told 'here's the city, have fun' is a bit overwhelming for me.

EA, hire this man immediatlely. He is such a believer in your products that he thinks your Live Journal Applications are cool and is confident your games are more valuable that groceries and beer.

On a more serious note, $20 is getting close to my "buy it" threshold on thsi game. The only reason I didn't do it sooner is that I sort of got burned out on the series after playing Burnout 3 to death and the "open city" thing seemed like a really bad idea for a racing game (I'm bad enough about getting lost during a slow paced GTA car chase). But at $15 or less, I'm ready to give the series another shot.

Um, regarding 2. If $20 buys 3 months of Xbox live, that would mean 1 year costs $80. I sure never paid that much.

Boo, we have no gamestop here, and nobody else will be selling it for that price.

I'm going to take my $20 and blow it all on pornography.

Jeepers... A three-month Xbox LIVE card retails for $20. A one-month Xbox LIVE card retails for $7.99. A one year Xbox LIVE card retails for $50.

You should know this by now, but I'm already in tight with EA.

Well, if you buy it by the month Live is $8. It is just cheaper if you buy it a year at time.

I bought Burnout Paradise for $20 on release and it was worth it. They could have easily charged more than that (total) for their DLC alone. Criterion rocks.
