Hellboy II Blu-ray $17.99 at Blockbuster

Was in Blockbuster this afternoon and spotted Hellboy II: The Golden Army on Blu-ray for $17.99 - this is the 'limited' version with the Digital Copy.

Brick & Mortar only, I'm afraid.

I agree with Stmfuller -- this movie was pretty underwhelming. It just didn't have any of the magic the first movie had.

Wow...I must be the only one who actually enjoyed the sequel more than the first one.

Well... to be fair, it did have a better ending than the first one.

I find the second one to be far and away better than the first one, as well. I enjoyed the first one when it originally came out, and then I bought the Blu-Ray to watch before going out to see the second. Man, it did not hold up at all. I don't really care for Selma Blair's Liz, and I think they put way to much cheese in the film (that goes for the second one as well). The second one had a much better plot, though, and it dropped some nice hints at even better story telling in the future.

The second movie tore the first one apart. The only thing the first had going for it over the second was Kronen. Now don't get me wrong, the first one is still high up there on my list of flicks, but the second was absolutely brilliant and so well done. I'm popping by Blockbuster on my way home from work today and snagging this.

I can't believe people actually found the first movie to be better than the second! The first movie was completely underwhelming to me, maybe a 6/10 or so, and I absolutely loved the second movie. I found the storyline much more interesting, and I loved all the creatures and characters.

Maybe I need to go back and watch Hellboy 1 again.

Wow, I'm surprised how many liked the second movie. I thought it was really bad and I liked the first one. Maybe I need to watch it again.

I thought they were both decent, but not great, movies. It's frustrating, because watching them you get the feeling they could have been much better than they were, but just miss the mark. Still fun.

Coming out of the theater for the second my wife and I joked that the movie was a steampunk wet dream. Gears everywhere, as far as the eye could see. We joked that del Toro must have looked over almost every scene and demanded more gears.
