Conroy & Hamill Return For Batman: Arkham Asylum

In news sure to please most fans of the Batman universe and more so those of the animated series, Eidos has announced that both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will return to voice Batman and the Joker in Batman: Arkham Asylum.

With this, you could consider the game to be a hat trick for the franchise given that it's written by Paul Dini who wrote for Batman: The Animated Series, where both Conroy & Hamill began their long run as Batman & the Joker.

The game is set to release in Summer 2009

I thought the Hamill thing was old news? I'm sure I heard it ages ago. Not that it makes it any less awesome.

I meant that Dini writing was one part, Conroy voicing was another, and Hamill voicing was the other part.

I mean, really, the gameplay is the only thing left to fuck this up. Voicing acting will get no complaints and I imagine the story will shine as well.

Conroy is probably new, however, it was all made official with a press release today, so that's why you are seeing the news.

Anyway this is basically the best news the game could get. However if they manage to ruin it with this pedigree then I'm going to crush someone's bones into a fine powder.

Awesome IP - check.

I'm usually an optimist, but I am seriously concerned that the gameplay is going to suck. Isn't it going to be a third-person brawler with crime solving elements?

When you've got that many awesomes I start to get a little edgy. You just get the feeling that they have to have done something wrong.
