I mean, if you WANT to do that, hey, that's great. But I'm not exactly in dire need of a 360, despite how decent of a deal you appear to be offering. My next electronics purchase is hopefully going to be a GTX260 as opposed to a Xbox 360.

So, let me get this straight. You can use headphones that don't jack into the tv directly, but just the 360 and transmitter via an optical cable?

I'm looking for a solution because my tv doesn't have a headphone jack, and it has sorta shitty speakers...plus my girlfriend gets pissed when it's even remotely loud (more like whispering).

Here's more of the setup. From what I can tell you can use the Optical cable to xbox 360. Then just get the wireless headphones(IR) on and bob's your uncle. That is if you are using the component cables that came with the system.

If you are using the HDMI cable though you'd have to get the xbox 360 hdmi kit, or at least the optical adapter from that same kit. The HDMI cable is a rip off and I think that adapter is why it sells for more than a normal cable.

Oh yeah, shit I use HDMI. I completely forgot. Still, component and HDMI on 360 have negligible, if any, differences IMO. I could still go component.

It's just something to think about, since I've been looking for a solution to my audio issues.

Yeah... the av adapter is roughly about $22 bucks used from ebay or amazon.

I bought these and before using them and somehow I got convinced to drop WAY more money. Thanks Random.
