DLC Coming to Wii Version of Rock Band 2
Rhythm gamers on the Wii have felt a little left out. While Rock Band and Guitar Hero 3 are both a lot of fun on the system, there was always one thing missing: the ability to shell out your hard earned bucks for new songs. Wii gamers who buy Rock Band 2 will have no such dilemma.
The Wii version of the game will include both downloadable songs and online multiplayer. This is the first Wii game to date that will support downloadable content, and is one of the few third-party titles that support multiplayer gaming. While this comes as a mild surprise, it should not be a shock. The original Rock Band treated the Wii as a bit of an afterthought, but the game is clearly targeted at the Wii's broad audience. And both Electronic Arts and Harmonix know the potential that comes from opening the lucrative DLC market to the hordes of Wii faithful (pro tip for Wii owners: buy another SD card now, your half gig of internal memory won't take too many songs). No other information - like pricing or whether the original Rock Band songs will also be made available via the Retail Bonus Pack like on the 360 and PS3 - but the content should be available soon after Rock Band 2 launches on the Wii this November 18th. Demo to the Death

I may have to pick up the Wii version, as its the only console I have (wife loves it). Then I'll be all ready to play next year at PAX. And can't cower behind my lack of a console when the music calls.
