Beyond, Watch Dogs, Dishonored, Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice, Anarchy Reigns, Nino no Kuni, etc, etc. I seriously think we're not being totally fair. Sure there are a lot of sequels, and those are the blockbusters, but heck, just look at the movies and it's exactly the same.

It takes time to devellop a new ip with interesting stuff. That's why they're kinda in the minority. But a lot of big ip's started of somewhere as well. Like Uncharted, Creed, Gears, etc. It would be a shame to dump a universe when it's done after part 1. The there's the issue of sequels being sequels in name only. Like all sportsgames or sims. It just looks like a lot like that.

I actually wish we got away from the whole IP and Franchising thing. More one-offs.

But the sales say, drown us in sequels. Only people to blame are ourselves. Now Assassin's Creed 3? Looks hot as the sun. Gimme gimme.

Well, since a lot of new ip don't sell, they usually are one off.

Enslaved was great. And only makes sense as a one off to me. If they had made a sequel I would have face palmed.

Maybe these retarded budgets aren't the way for all games. Like I said in the Next Gen thread, they should be at a point now where games aren't as expensive now. But here they all are wanting to go to a next gen where costs will go up even more and launching new IP and Franchise will be that more risky cause they paid more.
