I've been playing some Diablo III in spurts today as I get ready to fly out to Dallas tomorrow for a week of classes. It should be a fun trip but it also serves as a reminder that I am currently stuck in a job I do not like.

I'm not sure if I am liking Diablo III. I do not dislike it but so far I am only able to tolerate it in 40-60 minute sessions. /sarcasm Maybe I should start grinding and see if it grabs me the way WoW does.

If they are sugar-free then yes they are required. If not, well the sugar police will be giving you the blood test afterwards.

Well Krack will appreciate this. The electric went out around our area which I believe finally did in my long dying router. Now Krack has been telling me at least for a year to replace the thing. I ignored the good advice and tried to resurrect the router one last time. After an hour I gave up and begrudgingly went to Best Buy to buy one. The last time I bought a non-apple router was back in 2006 (i've had my apple router since 2007). I am glad they have made low end routers dummy proof. I had so many issues with my first router, I swore off a non-apple one since all I had were Apple products. But I don't love apple enough to buy their apple xtreme for $175. I bought a cheap Belkin for $30. It's working great. Lesson learned: Listen to Krack when he says anything about PC woes.

Sounds like its up and running great though Purps. Thats good.

Also any reviewer who rated the new Game of Thrones LESS than a 6 out of 10 needs to be shot in the fucking face. I can see rating it low because its slower but as a person who has never read the books and only seen some of the shows I am astonished at the storytelling and skullduggery going on. And as a game it looks very good. Yes there are some low poly characters and some low res textures but there are some insanely high textures and characters as well. I am wearing armor that includes the 2 heads of my last enemies chopped off and stuck to it. Their look of anguish is perfect in their dead faces and eyes and a great deal of work has gone into the lighting engine as well.

The game is a bit slow but filled with stats, skills, abilities, and all kinds of awesome stuff. It is really very fun so far. It is a slow starter for sure though.

Damn its really good.

There's a new Game of Thrones game, besides the RTS that came out last year?

EDIT:

You know when I was reading it I thought, 'Say, a game based around Thoros of Myr would be very cool."

Well it looks that will happen in some capacity.

Sadly, I don't have much, if any, data backed up externally. I do have stuff that I've uploaded to the cloud though... I just don't remember what...

No biggie. I'll recover what I can and wipe the slate clean. I'm just glad I wasn't in the middle of anything major!

So we spent the day at the zoo. Fun times, but I think I got a sunburn on my elbow. I somehow missed slathering it in sunscreen

While we wait for the wrestling to start tonight (my son is having a friend over for a sleepover party/wrestling fun times), we're playing some Trials Evolution. My son is frighteningly good at it, concidering it's his first time playing. He came within .3 seconds of beating one of my top times! EEK!

Today at the pharmacy, my wife successfully navigated a conversation in Spanish with a customer.

Until he said he needed a breast pump, a phrase consisting of two words she didn't know. The man said "leche," then made boob-squeezing motions. "Si, entiendo" said my wife.

(She's Hispanic and learned Spanish as a child, but since she never really used it growing up, it's mostly forgotten. That's why it was a big accomplishment.)

Well it had pictures how to set it up. Unless i was blind, it made it pretty much idiot proof. I did try mightily to screw it up though

Actually, after I had it working I noticed the speed of my access was much slower. I thought, ok it's this relic of a machine I have no problem. Then ADD asked if the internet was slower and she has a new Mac Air. I had no clue why. I must lurk enough in the right threads because I fooled with some of the settings (man there are a lot of options to screw up with a router ) and stumbled over how to "fix" whatever the issue was. Picture a monkey pushing buttons and suddenly green lights are lit. That was me and fixing the router.

If that didn't work, well I was going to stalk you on PMs tomorrow and ask you what the hell did I do wrong.

Are the PS3 versions Uncharted... better. This is a bunch of talking, poor gunplay, and climbing. It's not "bad" just nothing special as a whole. Looks decent enough I suppose. :/

Welcome to Uncharted.

The PS3 versions have some pretty impressive setpieces. I hear that the Vita version is rather lacking in the kind of over-the-top bits that really make your jaw drop (see: the train in Uncharted 2 or the plane/ship bits in U3).

I agree with this. It's very talky, but the writing is such that I don't actually mind it. And the gameplay is quite fun, though I wish I had some more energy points to go around on Lord Alester ...

So, I finally decided to return to Amalur this weekend. It's pretty fun! I've been just dicking around doing side quests...I'll probably start on the main quest once I clear out my questlog.

I've also been watching season 2 of The Wire (a little over halfway through now). Great, great show. Omar is an amazing character.

So I played a bunch of Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll today, in the midst of watching Ocean's 11, Ocean's 12, Ocean's 13, The Pink Panther (original, not Martin) , and A Shot in the Dark.

That spate of movies brought on by watching The Sting last night.

Trinity is... interesting. It's an action RPG with a mission-based gameplay that somehow reminds me of Wizardry.

One reason I would rather not know any Spanish is the fear of knowing just enough to be dangerous. What does your wife do, if you don't mind me asking?

She's a pharmacist in everything but name at this point. She's in her fourth year of a pharmacy doctorate program, which consists of working clinics and pharmacies around the state/nation/world.

This month, she's in our resident state of North Carolina. Next month, we're heading to South Africa. After that, she goes to DC. Pretty wild.
