I wouldn't say the House finale was the best I've ever witnessed, however I would say that it was pretty damn good relative to how most shows handle their finales. Which is to say, most shows never even have a freakin' finale and you're left with a few years of unresolved conflict. I'll take LOST's hodgepodge of a finale over no finale at all.

I am anticipating Sherlock to have an amazing finale.

No, I was more asking why you would post that finale here when it's apparently just tolerable.

Heh, I was thinking that, too.

However, I thought it was really good, so consider it from me. So many finales, to me, anyhow, end up being unsatisfactory, but this one did it for me.

My bad I thought this was just finale talk. Didn't focus on best. Disregard.

Don't think so. That was pretty good.

I'm not big on my Star Trek lore, but the first post mentions Data being seen as an old guy in the TNG finale. Didn't he get blown to bits?

In The Next Generation's finale Picard is moving backwards and forwards through time to three different periods, one of which is twenty or thirty years later.

It's mentioned in the episode that the future may not happen exactly as Picard saw it, it's just one of many possible futures. The important thing is the present, the friendships here and now, heartwarming etc.

It was a fantastic finale! Then the TNG films ruined everything.

In a weird way though, didn't he?

Yes, I'm sure you're referring to medically only. But the truth is, both House and Wilson were always insanely flawed characters, but on opposite sides of the coin. Wilson was emotional, caring, going out of his way for others, while House was a narcassistic ass. By House doing what he did, he not only freed Wilson up to be selfish for once, but he also let Wilson know that he was so important, that the most unchangeable force in his life could change. And on the flipside, by Wilson always trying to be unselfish, even to the end, House finally forced himself to face real life, even the ugly parts, and allowed himself to live for his best friend for the end of his life, no matter how painful it is going to be.

I dunno, at least that's how I saw it. And I do think it was a pretty good ending. One of the better endings, and definitely within the scope of the characters involved.
