Make sure to get Kinetic Void some mention too. It is getting down to the wire with 32 hours left in the Kickstarter windows for this game to meet it's goal of $60,000. Right now they have $35,000 pledged so far.

I will have an announcement for this thread very, very soon. I just need to talk to my artists and get a budget in order.

I'm glad Kinetic Void exists, but I don't particularly want a copy based on what they've pitched in their video. Super detailed ship building isn't really my thing.

Yeah, like I laid out in my ideal space sim thread, I'm looking for a game that takes the next step and lets me explore inside of ships and stations instead of just flying them around and blowing them up.

None of the space sims on Kickstarter has gotten me interested. I hope they succeed and turn out good, but I don't have enough faith to support them at this point.

That is just part of the game not all of it. But you know that

I do. But it's the part they seem most jazzed about as developers and the part they're clearly most comfortable building (since it's what they built and showed off first).

Which is cool for folks who dig that stuff, I'm just not that guy.

What I want from a space game is actually pretty simple, I think. I want Freelancer, with more. Deeper combat, more varied missions, a decent plot with factional conflict, more "loot" (ships, weapons, etc) to play with that feel functionally different.

But not even that much more, really. Honestly now I just want to go play Freelancer again. Maybe I'll do that.

Much of what I want from a space game is what Notch's 0x10c is planned to feature. And I don't think he needs Kickstarter to fund it.

Is it a special edition with even more misogyny?

Kinetic Void pulled off a surprising rally in their final hours and met their goal.

From KickTraq:

They raised over $26k in their last day.

Animals do not Think, but I am reasonably certain that they have Emotions. 'Eating this makes me Happy.' 'When my fur is all wet and I am cold, it makes me Sad." "Ooo! Puppies!' There's definitely a pattern of Kickstarter projects that come close to their goal rallying in the final days. It makes me hopeful about some lagging projects which have at least managed to break 50%, like SpaceVenture.

There's a sizable number of Kickstarter backers that wait until the final few days before making a decision.

Takedown was like that too. Kicktraq doesn't have data for them, but they were short like 25% of their goal going into the final couple of days, and ended up overfunded by 10%.

Yeah, I totally agree but the dev's are Russian and while their English isn't bad I think that in this case the game play footage video is a better option.

Looks like there is now a Kickstarter for awesome looking zombie RPG Dead State. Their reward tiers are terrible, though.

$15 and you get a copy. That's the only tier level I care about for most games.
