I almost instantly went to zero, then I remembered TF2 is now F2P...

So I went with $50-100. I have spent over $100 on TF2 items (only a couple of hats!!), but less than 100 since it went F2P.

Cosmetic items and characters. I don't buy 'boosts' or 'conveniences'; if the game isn't enjoyable without them then it is a game I don't play.

Oh, I should say this: I would have spent money on Star Trek Online, but Cryptic actively impeded my efforts to do so. They aren't too bright over there.

Quests/zones. Ddo took the perfect approach ... think of it more as pay as you go than f2p.

Nothing, if we're not counting Guild Wars expansions. I debated buying some extra vault storage space once, but didn't do it.

On World of Tanks you just bought gold, which could buy any of the premium things. I primarily spent it on the premium level account, which got you more XP and access to some extra game features. Most of the rest was spent on transferring earned XP from one tank into different tanks.

PoxNora - I buy a big box of the latest expansion cards whenever one hits because it means I'm guaranteed a new exotic, which I can then trade for the one from my faction. Getting the rares, uncommons and commons is easy after that. It's much easier to stay up to date than it is to fall behind and play catch up later.

League of Legends - I bought an XP boost to get me from summoner level 20-30. Aside from that it's all been spent on either new characters, or new skins for my favourites such as Lux and Karma.

About 60, spread over 4 or 5 games.

I think about 25 bucks I think. on World of Tanks. For premium account time. I still have gold waiting for future premium time for when I eventually get my own place with good internet...ect...

alot of the premium tanks are nothing special compared to the normal ones anyway. except the Type 59...but this is a discussion for another time...

League of Legends: Over 100 in the last year
SMNC: 7 Bucks
Warhammer: Wrath of Heroes: 10 Bucks
Eden Eternal: 20 Bucks (Anime style MMO, was neat when it came out with the classes)
Lorto: Cloaks, Armor, fancy stuff at the time. About 25 bucks

This is what I can recall at least, most of the time it was for content. League of Legends it's all about champs and skins. SMNC was for Combat Girl and Megabeth, Warhammer was for a healer. Eden Eternal was for a rare box that gave a rare mount.

I've probably spent $600-700 in Team Fortress 2.

I don't regret any of it.

I voted nothing, but I realize now that I completely forgot about TF2. I think I bought one single set of 3 keys, which was...12 dollars roughly? I forget. Other than that, F2P needs exactly that to me, Free. If you have a pay portion of your game, I'll play up until I need money to continue enjoying the experience.

Unfortunately, very few games actually tempt me into spending money on an otherwise free game. Champions Online is tough to turn down at times, considering I'm addicted to that character creator and most of the cool costume options aren't free, but the game itself isn't good enough to bother spending money on. I realize I'd be paying to fiddle with aesthetic options on a character I'd never play and that isn't enough of an incentive. If the game itself is fun, like TF2, and I feel like I've already gotten my money's worth, I'm more open to spending more money.

Funny thing about Free to Play. I'd rather just play for a complete game.

How are they not "complete"? You get a full featured game (generally speaking), especially in the case of something like TF2 and World of Tanks.

TF2 is a different beast. It went out there made a butt load of money before letting everyone in.

I'm talking about the ones that put you in a situation to pay for extras that you would normally get otherwise; Or that limits you in stupid ways so that you pay for stuff.

I suppose it's like anything else, you're gonna have people that do it right and people that don't.

I put $50, because that's what I spent on Tribes: Ascend. Can't remember if I spent anything on another game.

World of Tanks premium. EXP and credit boosts basically. I do also have a few premium tanks but all of them came from promo codes I was given at one point or another.
