WeekEND gaming(4/13/12)- What are YOU playing?

<place holder for nonsense to be shown later> The later is NOW.

Nonsense as promised...

Movie marathon anyone?

And one day later...

Alas unlike Karak who doesn't have to worry about age since he's an eternal God...I am another year older. Birthday weekend for me!

I'll be gaming with my birthday hat on

I said hat...not SUIT

What are YOU playing?

Games? You guys have time for games? My life sucks lately.

It seems that I have hit the Blizzard beta lottery (a little later then most I'm sure). I received invites for both MoP and Diable III yesterday. What time I do have for gaming will most likely be spent with those two.

I'm looking forward to some nonsense later this morning. I hop you do not disappoint me Mr. Santa.

Stacked weekend with a meeting with a professor this morning, two papers, lots of reading, some research, and am giving a short talk to the whole congregation on Sunday.

Maybe I'll punish myself with some Utility Vehicles Simulator. I'm also in no way stress testing something that I'm super excited for this afternoon. No siree. Not involved in that.

I learned something. Wives are not amused when you walk around the house in the morning performing "Duel of the Fates" as sung by a chicken. (bukbuuuuuuk, buk buk buuuuk!)

And now as punishment I have to go see the Hunger Games.

Happy Birthday Purple Santa!

There have been a lot of birthdays lately. In fact I've gone to one or two birthday celebrations almost every week for a couple months now. A buddy of mine is celebrating his birthday later today, so I will be attending that party. It's also my mom's boyfriend's birthday today. My birthday is in two weeks!

This is my last somewhat free weekend for quite a while. Next weekend I will be in NYC partying with other COGers, the weekend after that is my birthday, and I have a lot of fun plans for that event, the weekend after that I will be wrapping up homework and studying for my one final exam, the weekend after that I will be in Nebraska for my sister's high school graduation, and the weekend after that I am moving. Phew...

As I said in my previous post, this evening I will be at a friend's birthday party. On Sunday I am going to visit my soon-to-be roommate's soon-to-be cat. Other than that I have quite a bit of free time this weekend, including all of Saturday, which hasn't happened in a long time. There's a chance that a last minute Game Night could happen, but if not I'll have some time to actually game!

I'll be doing a lot of homework over the next few days so that I can be ahead of the game for my vacation next weekend, but when I do have time to game...

SimCity 4 - Hopefully no more crashy crashy.

Undying - I really need to get back to this.

Dwarf Fortress
- Ditto

At the moment none of these games is really turning my crank, but I feel like I should stick with Undying. I should have finished that game weeks ago. :/

Happy Birthday Santa!

This weekend will hopefully be all about Borderlands and Fallout: New Vegas. A wasteland filled weekend for me, it seems. I could see myself popping God of War III back in to finish off my Hard playthrough, and maybe a bit of Jamestown. And damn it, I’d love to squeeze in some Persona 3 Portable. Of course, I have to fit that in between baby classes, the beach, the library, and about 40 other things.

Birthday terrible rhyme

Whether wrangling crazies or playing games
Santa listens to all our pains
A perfect man with impeachable taste
Not even ME3 went to waste
"The end wasn't bad" I heard him say
I knew the crazies got him that very day
and brought him low to their crazy ways
shot him in his brain with their crazy rays

Alas the time is short and he is older now
Each day creeping towards the final bow
Gently into the night he will not go
His last act to finally snap and land on death row

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR!

This weekend is just writing down some music and putting it into Fruityloops and hoping I can grasp the new edition.

Happy birthday Purps!

I've got a bit of a busy day today (work has been somewhat intense, but it's calm and quiet now, so I'll enjoy the silence) and then I am heading to our organization's spring gala dinner, followed by a visit to see The Cabin In The Woods if I'm still awake

As for games:

Legend Of Grimrock (PC) - I got party wiped last night but I'm hoping to finish the second floor.

Xenoblade (Wii) - I'm going to head out of Colony 9 and walk up Bionus' shin soon. If I can stop looking for goodies in the lake and getting killed by fish.

Rayman: Origins (Vita) - I am officially further in this than I was on the 360. I hate trying to find the hidden artifacts because you can hear them but I can't find them half of the time and it drives me mad!!!

Happy Birthday! I assume "birthday hat" means no hat, because birthday+clothing item = nekkid. It's like opposite day for clothes!

I spent most of the morning tinkering with my PC. I Googled "how to tell if your PC is in Crossfire mode" since I had no way of telling. Then when I realized there was supposed to be an option in the ATI Catalyst Control Center and WASN'T, I went on an unforgettable journey of driver wiping, in depth googling, and worrying. Did I have a dead card? Are the bios right? Do I even have a Crossfire machine (i.e., is there even a crossfire bridge on the cards?). I opened the case and it was there alright. Hmm.

After hours of frustration, I decided to open the case back up. I pushed on the first card to make sure it was seated properly. It was. Pushed on the second and felt a little slide. Restarted my machine and VOILA! There was the Crossfire option. This whole friggin' time I have been playing games at max settings using just the one card. Worked great, but now I know I don't have a defective machine!

Card must have come unseated during shipping. Or they just didn't test it out before shipping.

Happy birthday, Purps.

So, why did no one tell me that Avernum features art from Phil Foglio? I created my party in it this morning - a 2h-weapon guy, a sword guy, a priest, and a thief-mage.

Happy birthday, Purps.

Xenoblade - I've left the first town and am headed towards the next. I stopped after exiting into a large area, so I'll be exploring that next. I also might fast travel back to some areas to finish off some quests.

Mass Effect 3 - I want to buy at least one more premium spectre pack before they go away for a while. There's a free resurgence pack tonight, so hopefully I'll get one of the four new classes that I still need.

Tales of Graces f - I really need to get back to this. Since I've switched to playing a ton of ME3 and Xenoblade, maybe I'll stop worrying about the side quests for now and just beat the game and then do the future arc. I think I can just load my clear game save and continue working on quests before starting up a NG+, but I should probably make sure of that first.
