I am not sure what it was about Dragon Age. But I really disliked almost everything about it when all is said and done.
Each to their own as always and as long as your having fun. Stupid companions sucks and is one of my pet peeves.

I sort of played it like Warhammer RPG. SUPER UBER dangerous world so I didn't really have a tank come to think of it.

Anyway nah as long as your having some little bit of fun with it thats cool.

A bunch of others in the thread including Digustipated were banned too. Foolish shit. I think this is the third time I have been banned and I wasn't out of line any of those times.

I only go there because there is so many more threads going in and constant activity, but otherwise I hate those gamers more than any other sect I belong to. Total losers.

Ya love the gaf due to there just being so much activity and despite what some would like you to think, there is some excellent discussions. But some of the mods are ban happy through and through.
I have also made a good deal of real life friends from there. Their boardgame, RPG, and other OT threads can be to die for. Some amazing amazing people and super helpful. Even more than here.
I think here many of us know one another so we are busy shooting the shit and sometimes teasing each other and it can be harder to get help or ask a question. At gaf you just have to worry about being missed, or pissing off someone. Neither of which I care about.

Gonna be honest, the overall gaming community is probably the most vile collection of human beings outside the criminal element. I'm never surprised by the sheer dickery that comes out of us as a whole.

Tried to fire up Bulletstorm, which I grabbed for $5 in a recent sale. All that's happened so far is that I've learned to never, ever purchase a GFWL game... ever. I got locked out of my account after a couple tries because I use that password like once a year, and now I have to reset it. I can't even play the SINGLEPLAYER without doing this secondary DRM shit? Fuck that, and fuck EA/Epic/People Can Fly.

The guys who run TheTVDb.com come off as lunatics to me. One of the biggest shit-storms involves the new Avatar series: Legend of Korra.

For reference, the site is listed as a "community-based" tv wiki. But they list Legend of Korra as Season 4 of Avatar because "It's a sequel and should be considered the next season in the show."

This is false. It's a different show, different crews, everything. Many threads are opened on the forums about why it's not two entries. Most of the responses?
"This has already been discussed, thread closed."
But the worst? The head mod says "Until I see good reason to split the shows, I won't."
A dude lists many reasons, good ones, and politely presents his case. Head mod's response is "Guess if I give a shit?"

Another harsh but useful place but lots safer than say 4chan or even gaf is the AVG forums. God damn it can be a train wreck. But it is like 4000 nerds with insane bits of knowledge...but harsh as a cheese crater on a freshly warmed nutsack.

The wireless adapter, when you get it, will turn your PC desk into a gaming siesta. Now you just need a stereo headset. And then suddenly your 12 again with you're own tv in your bedroom.

I'm trying to figure out how Dark Souls got saddled with GFWL too. I thought it was basically put out to pasture a while ago and wasn't going to be used with new games.

Played a chunk of Xenoblade today. I am about 6 hours in now and love it. Some stuff happened to mix up the plot a bit and I'm shocked that they did what they did, esp. that early in the game. If that's where they're starting, I'm really looking forward to playing this game through, PS2-level textures and all.

It helps that I've now opened up most of the systems in the game so it's starting to shine. I know it has been said already, but where was this game 3-4 years ago when people were decrying the state of JRPGs? And why is it on the Wii instead of on an HD system? It deserves more love.

Also put in an hour into Grimrock. Now that I know you can sleep to get your health back and my party isn't wearing oily rags any more, I'm quite enjoying it. I had to tear myself away just now so that I can head to bed. Maybe tomorrow I'll post my thoughts about why playing a game like Grimrock is so strange, yet not, for me.
