I liked Singularity. Linear as all hell, but fun story, great action, and one of the best ending sets I've seen.

I will probably play some Dead Island, which is pretty much a fetch-quest game. The combat is visceral though, which makes it somewhat enjoyable. I'm only just starting to find guns and med-kits too, so hopefully that will mix up the "all melee" approach that the game has been so far. I chose the girl character who's Fury attack is a small time of super gun shots. I'm cursing myself for waiting until level 15 to activate the Fury skills on the first skill tree. I had been spending all my level up points on the 3rd skill tree up to that point.
I'm downloading Witcher:EE on Mac as I type this. I already owned it for Windows via Steam, with the past intention of playing it through Parallels on my Macbook, but now that it is available on the Mac, I might be more inclined to actually play it. I also have Sports Champion, Child of Eden and Rayman Origins sitting around unfinished. Sigh. But with baseball now officially underway, I'll probably do almost no gaming for the next 6 months as I pretty much have a baseball game on at all times while home. |

Day two of sobriety begins with assholes renovating the apartments next to mine. Hammering, yelling, general douchebaggery. Which all ceases within minutes of me saying "Fuggit" and getting out of bed. I'm choosing today to test my push-up limit to see how many I can do, for Monday starts the push-up+1 routine discussed in the Weight Loss Thread. Aside from that, I tried out Fortune Summoners last night, and while the controls are a little loose, it's basically exactly what I thought it would be. I'll enjoy this one immensely after I buy it. Pretty decent length for a demo.

They were both $5 during the winter Steam sale. I bought ME2 for that price even though I beat it on 360. They also had both games with all the DLC for both for $20, I believe (which is about $40 worth of DLC).

So I've started a new FO3 game, and I've made some decisions to play a bit differently.
In my first game, I played a 'good' character, with skills optimized to my favorite sniperesque playstile. In my second, I played like Clint Eastwood's old western character. Mostly similar to the above, but instead I went all 1-handed guns. Especially big nastly handguns. For this.... Well, to start, I can't play evil. Just can't do it. I've tried in this and other games, and I got so unhappy playing the game I had to quit. So, if I'm going to be good...might as well go for the comedy. So my watchphrase for this game is: "What would Minsc do?" Mostly Explosives, Melee, and Big Guns for my combat skills. Strong, Endurance, not very smart.

She totally did not understand why I chose that title. Glad you enjoyed my little poke though. I play it now and then. Karak has a copy. Ronin is fun to play with. Friend me up...i'll play some hands with you. Maybe I can lure Karak away from Steam for a second. Also ask if the gaming twin owns a copy...et tu gt?

I will agree that overall it doesn't make the entire game suck. And the combat in ME 3 was by far the best in the series. But it was a lazy and sloppy way to send off the series. And also the fact that I had to pay an extra $10 out of the gate for that From Ashes DLC left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. I don't think the game is the devil or anything, but I'm glad EA and Bioware is getting the heat they are because Bioware, while still a good company, is definitely going down hill and becoming quite shady in the way they are taking advantage of their fans. I hope this serves as a reality check for them. |

No Easter festivities for me this weekend, although I will be very busy. Today I am working on homework as well as hopefully a little bit of looking at job openings. Tomorrow I have two events to attend. The first is a friend's coming home party. She's been in Scotland for the last six months, and I am really looking forward to seeing her again. After that I will be heading over to my usual Game Night, which I'm sure will be a blast as always.
On Sunday I am helping some friends clean up their raspberry patch. They've promised raspberry cobbler in return for my services, so of course I said yes. I like working in the garden, and yummy baked goods are the icing on the cake. As far as homework goes I have a couple more chapters to read in a book for Ethnic America, the chapter on Islam for my World Religions class (hi Reverant!), 70+ forum posts to read for Family Communications, and a math exam on Monday that I need to study for. Yikes! There should be time for gaming, during which I will likely play one or more of the following: SimCity 4 - I bought this on Steam a while back, and I finally fired it up the other day. I played a ton of SimCity Classic back in the day, as well as a lot of 2000 and a fair amount of 3000, but I had never played 4 for a variety of reasons. I'm glad I decided to play it now, because it's quite a bit of fun. The graphics are dated, but serviceable, and the game crashed on me once, and the land I have to build on seems smaller than in previous versions, but those are just about my only complaints. I have a bustling little city of 7000 or so going so far. I guess I do have one more complaint - my city seems pretty large for only having 7000 people in it. The scale in this game is a little odd, to say the least. Undying - I need to get back to this and continue on my quest. Dwarf Fortress - The time sucker awaits me, calling me from the depths. "Explore!", it says. "Build!", it says. "Conquer!", it says. "Make soap!", it says. I don't think that I can resist its siren song much longer.

Started up Asura's Wrath. I noticed a familiar name: CyberConnect2. I looked to make sure my memory wasn't wrong (as often it is) and yup, developers for .hack//. How bad can this game be then

How much Bioware's practices of late (going back to Dragon Age or ME2, whichever came first) are from the studio and how much is mandated by EA would be interesting to note.
And I'm not saying that ME is to be graded on the same scale as your average JRPG, but my brain can handle the kind of babble that happens at the end of ME3 because of years of conditioning from exposure to JRPG psychobabble. It's like building up a resistance to iocaine powder.

Is that from someone cutting off access to those or something else?
