Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion Story Trailer

The new trailer for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion puts a very heavy focus on the game's story. At first I thought this was an odd choice for a 4X strategy game. Those trailers are normally everything BUT story. But in just a few short years the Sins name has earned enough cachet among strategy fans that they realize they almost don't have to sell the gameplay at this point. The fans know what they're getting gameplay wise - and it's been featured more in earlier trailers - that Ironclad and Stardock want to highlight the story and presentation more in the sequel's marketing. It's a ballsy move, but it may be the right one.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion will be released on the PC this June.

Played a good game in the Beta release. Could only play the Humans when I did play, but all the minor and major changes to the game make Rebellion a whole lot of fun. The new Titan class are godly once you get rolling yours out into space, just very expensive. Huge beasts that obliterate most everything in their path.

Every time I see trailers for this game, I remind myself to go start up my installed copy, but I never do. I think mostly because the time I would need to reinvest in that. I really should play some of the original though.

I wonder if Stardock is still going to honor my free copy of this game not being impulse anymore. O_o

I keep waiting for the great enemy to turn up.... I wonder if it will be in this game.

Alas it falls after D3 comes out. So I'll pick it up when Im in the mood for some 4x space combat, but it may be awhile.

Yea, the alluded enemy that sent the others crashing towards the TEC. This ones does seem to go after story more, so maybe.

Well the trailer does seem to pretty much sum up the last 3 games, and it's nice for them to shore up the story somewhat. I'll be interested to see what they do.

Is this considered a sequel now? I thought it was just a larger stand-alone expansion. Either way it doesn't matter. This is going to be awesome! Sins is such a fantastic game, and I'm glad that more is on the way.
