I'm really enjoying it, it's been long enough since I read book two that with some of the changes they are making I'm kept on my toes. None of those changes seem so far to alter anything fundamentally and are seemingly there because they simply don't have the time or space to do things the way the books did.

I read the second book so long ago that I can't, for the life of me, remember more than about 2 things that I'm certain happened in book 2. I am enjoying the season so far, but I still feel like without having read the books as background context, I'd be completely lost.

I actually picked up Black Death on DVD a week or so ago purely because it had Sean Bean on the cover.
Worth a watch for free on Netflix, but I'm definitely glad it was cheap when I picked it up.

Really hit and miss on the casting/treatment for the new characters.

Margaery was supposed to be a blushing virgin bride at this point in the story, not a player running around dressed like a harlot.

Asha was... ah fuck it, they even changed her name, I give up.

Brienne, on the other hand, perfect.

EDIT: And while I agree, Maergary is very different here... I liked her attitude. Should I bring Loras in here? Flip over and let you pretend I'm him?

One of the plotlines in the books though is just who knows what when it comes to the Tyrells. Most of the focus is on the dowager running things while Margaery maintains a nigh-impenetrable facade of ladylike behavior, only interested in playing the young lady gossiping with her handmaidens. Basically she spends the better part of the books pretending to be what Sansa actually is most of the time. Which further along in the story is why she can befriend her and gain her trust somewhat

Basically two strikes for the Tyrells, IMHO, as Loras is also a horrible fit, no pun intended!

I think Loras is fine. And this with Margaery is one of those side plots that I think benefits from the changes, or at least, I don't mind it.

I am actually getting sick of "sexposition" though, officially.

Agree on both accounts. The books do not actually show much of Margaery. As much as they show, she is this well versed in the game of thrones and willing to play at it as well.

In the first season, I found the nudity less annoying. It just seems like a bother now. I feel like there are whole scenes with nudity now just because. My wife commented on wanting to complain to HBO about it (not that I think it would do anything).
