Mostly not sure if I'm going to or not. And yes, I know the process is easily reversible. I just don't relish the thought of having a procedure like that done if it can be avoided. Condoms and Birth Control have been working for my wife and I for years.

wife and I agreed on two pregnancies (well really births, both my mom and my mother-in-law had miscarriages at one point) and then we'd "close up shop".
at this point though, I don't know if we'll ever be at the point where we're ready for #2. |

They ask you to manscape prior to arrival.
I took care of it myself.

Umm. This is true.
My wife just got rid of her IUD for a number of reasons. One being it seemed to be uncomfortable to her on occasion. Another being that it was coming to the end of its life cycle. Our youngest just turned 4. And as for stabbing, yes, without getting too graphic, the damn thing would poke me in most positions. Not a pleasant experience. I assume this depends on both your physiology as well as your wife's. Some women have shallower canals, just as some men have larger parts. Any combination of the two and I guarantee youre in for a pointy surprise.

I've wanted to get snipped for years. Mainly due to the fact that pulling out takes some of the... oomph out of my "O" face. That and I really don't want any more kids.
But damn man. Scalpels, cutting my man meat? Scares me just thinking about it. |

Pulling out is also one of the least effective forms of birth control. Just so you know.

Surgery took 15 minutes. It wasn't 5 minutes that felt like 15. Or 30 that felt like 15. It was a good solid 15 minutes. I recall that I thought he was done after the first tube was severed. Seemed to be a few steps to it that made me think it was done. I remember sitting up due to the fact that he said "ok" as if finished. The doc said now let me see if I can reach the other tube through this opening. Which he did. Thankfully. I believe the cauterization of the tube ends and the damn stitch takes the longest. I do recall reading that there are various ways to get it done. I believe one method is called open ended. This is where the testicle side of the vas is not stitched or cauterized. Again I didn't do a terrible amount of research prior to going as I didn't want to psych myself out, but if I remember, spontaneous reattachment of the vas deferens happens more frequently with open ended vasectomies. Also for the record. I'm at about 36 hours post op and my balls still hurt. Or more accurately my damn groin fuckin hurts. I know they warned me about heavy lifting and I can now attest as to why NOT to lift a heavy object. I borrowed my neighbors tile saw today. While I was gone, he left it outside my garage. It's not terribly heavy. I remember moving it myself with no trouble before. Well I bent down to lift the damn thing and felt like the chestburster alien from the original Ridley Scott movie was going to come out my tant! So, bottom line... Tile saw still outside. Balls still attached.

This made me do a spit take when I read it. Could you imagine... I picture the dos Equis guy with a box knife and a cigar lighter. The announcer stating something like. "he had to give himself a vasectomy in order to fend off the requests from the sperm banks" Or something of the sort. Haha

I.... Uh... .................................................. ................................................. Damnit. Anyways, I've managed to dodge the bullet since 2004 using that pull out method. I'm pretty sure that my luck might run out sooner or later. |

I had the procedure done a few years ago as I hate kids and condoms. Pretty much what Cpl described. Didn't take very long, and the pain was definitely bearable. Seeing the smoke waft up from my genital region was probably the most disturbing part.
Soreness for a couple of days, but frozen peas and tighty whiteys definitely helped. |

Ahem...
I'm so glad I don't have to worry about getting a woman pregnant. No vasectomy for me, thanks. The slightest thought of such a procedure makes me feel light-headed. Quote:
I hope that Gorvi's man parts have a better track record than Sega.

I've almost typed a few analogies, but I have a hard time equating my genitals to any game franchise.
