Mario Kart 7 Screens
I'm not much of a handheld gamer, and never have been. But the impending release of Mario Kart 7 is making me seriously consider my previous position. No game brings me back to my childhood in quite the same fashion. Is it worth the $220 it would cost me for the game and the system? I'm still debating. Mario Kart 7 will be released this Sunday exclusively for the 3DS. |

Depends on if you'd play anything else with it. Mario just came out and it's brilliant so between the two you'd have some mileage. Some of the other titles in the pipe look great too, but you may also want to hold out on the (likely) redesign.
Also: those screens look fantastic. Can't wait to get mine.

I JUST beat Mario 3D Land. All coins, all levels. I'm ready for some Kart.
But I'm in India! Can someone buy this and send it to me? Please?

Go back and play a bit of Kart on the DS and see how much interest you have in it. They really aren't all that different throughout the various releases. I found that even though I loved the first few Kart's I had had enough by the time the DS version came out.

I use to think the same, then about two years ago I played with some friends who loved it. I gave it another go and decided it's my favorite next to MKDS. It's by far the hardest to master. Very twitchy. The lack of the jump makes the slide all sorts of tricky.

MKDS was great, I'll take one of these for sure. And MK64 was definitely the weakest in my book.

How's that? 64 was trying to be a step forward with real 3D tracks, but the level design ruined the kind of deathmatch that was so fun in previous Karts.

Double Dash is one of the few games I've ever returned after buying it (back when GS still allowed that). It sucked so terribly.
Also: SNES is my favorite with MKDS a close second, but the battle tracks on 64 are far and away my favorite. So there.

We never really raced in MK64. It was all about popping balloons.

Yo, where dat Super Circuit love at?
I'll have to miss out on both this and Super Mario Land 3D, since I purchased a Galaxy Player 4.0 for my birthday last month. |

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks. That definitely improves the odds of me playing this at some point then. I've kind of had it with having to skulk around in 2nd for the majority of each race, it just feels so metagamey.

In the Wii version, I play online quite a bit. I'm often able to get far enough ahead that I can survive a blue shell.
I loved ALL of the recent Karts, Wii, GameCube and DS. Never been a big fan of the battle mode, but really enjoy racing. They each have their advantages and disadvantages but are loveable overall. I was REALLY glad to see 'snaking' removed from the Wii version. Snaking is bullshit IMHO.
