Mechwarrior Online

Unless I'm mistaken, the new MO Free to Play is PC only, so I thought I would start a thread.

I really don't know any of the universe lore, but I do know that giant walking tanks are awesome. I haven't played a Mechwarrior game since Mercenaries, (has there been one?) but I enjoyed that quite a bit for what it was.

With the announcement on Joystiq that the game will apparently run on the Crytek 3 engine, I thought this was a good time to get an official thread rolling in this forum. I didn't think much of the derivative story and what I felt was pretty bland gameplay in Crysis 2, but it damn sure had some pretty visuals. I think this choice will probably give some good flexibility and nice eye candy for our chosen engines of destruction.

If my username is any indication, I'm a pretty big Battletech fan. I am watching this game with keen interest. Crytek 3 is a good engine.

There have been no MechWarrior games for PC since Mercenaries, though the MechAssault series on the XBOX was pretty popular as I recall.

You will not mention that abortion of a game again!

oh please...you pretend like killing enemy mechs and then walking over the power-ups they dropped hasn't been integral to the battletech formula since day one...

No, didn't even know there was one. Of course, I never owned a SNES.

I played Multiplayer Battletech Solaris though!
