Saint's Row: The Third

So, it's finally out, what does everyone think? Personally, I'm loving it. The way they went so cinematic with the missions is great. The controls work really well, and combat feels very smooth. The only thing that is really taking some adjustment for me is that X is now the "drift" button when in a car, and Square is now the rear-view.

Funniest thing I've done so far is toss some chick off a building, and then realize that the game is actually recording how far I toss people and rewarding me accordingly. Maxed out the meter with that one! I'm still just getting started though, and have blown most of my money customizing a car to be uber.

They tracked throwing distance in SR2 as well and rewarded you for it. Something the series has done right is rewarding you for any weird stunt you can think of. If the rewards are similar then take my advice: Steal a helicopter and jump out and try for the three gold stars in the parachuting challenge. Your reward is no fall damage ever (at least in SR2).

GMG finally got their codes and it's been downloading all day. Between this and Assassin's Creed I'm glad to have skipped Skyrim for now.

I love it. I think that the beginning mission just hit it off. It was a perfect testament to the difference between this and other games of its kind. GFX are actually very good and no FPS problems at all.

Also I chose Zombie for my voice...and I haven't laughed that hard in years.

I picked this up for the PS3, I just can't trust the PC port, guys, please let us(me) know if the PC version is GOOD this time. I'll pick it up for PC as well if that's the case.

This.... I want those who are wondering if they should get the game, to look at this.

Now imagine they made an entire game of that. You needn't imagine.

I've discovered I can still feel joy.

Are there any comparisons for the PC/PS3/360?

After Saint's Row 2, yes he does.

So far on the PC version it's fantastic. Runs smoothly at high settings, control swapping is as simple as dropping the pad and grabbing the mouse. It's not quite Just Cause 2 in that the contextual prompts don't instantly change, but that's it really.

Official not yet. I am awaiting a Lens of Truth post.

PC reports are that it is a dramatically improved port, however the 360 is dramatically improved from Saints Row 2 as well. So all in all the entire game, no matter what system, seems to be very well done.

I'm going to play it when I finish doing a project for school. I played the first two missions earlier and it looks really good and plays very well. I'm extremely excited to keep going, I'm getting close to where the world is open.

(as mentioned before I'm playing on PC)

I got my copy earlier but just had time to do the opening mission. Loving it thus far (on the PS3) and can't wait to get further in. I have a feeling that Skyrim is going to sit for a bit until I get some good time with this.

You have to install a patch.
And the game.

That's all I got.
