Didn't see Caps. But after the Avengers I don't think I will. Cause even in that movie he sucked.

I actually though I saw Sheldon prancing around in a blue herosuit at one point during an action bit.

Earth-based green latern? O_o

I didn't think the sequels sucked. Thor and Capt America really weren't all that. Not as bad ass as the pay load the Avengers were. But not horrible movies. Decent popcorn flicks.

With the direction of DC comics with series wide reboots now, just meh. I could totally see a Justice League movie working out though. Except it would be more single movies. Probably need to bring Timm in to help make it consistent.

But you'd have Superman, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern. And maybe a Aquaman film. O_o Entourage believed in it. You can just work Martian Manhunter into the JL movie. Like Hawkeye. The Wall can be at the end of all movies like Sam Jack.

I miss Samurai Jack.

I don't think Capt sucks. I think I saw only a flash of him being bad ass against the army on the street. The bank/office scene wasn't shit but it was... just there.

My problem is I still think Emil Blonsky has done more as a Super Soldier in 1 minute than cap has in a long ass movie.

I agree, that scene was pretty awesome.

I kind of like it. It's far campier than The Avengers movies though. Batman & Robin is the one that everyone hates, and for good reason, it was terrible. It felt very cheap all around.

Batman was also good, but Batman Returns was awful.
I liked Batman Returns.

I'm surprised at how many people disliked Thor and especially Captain America. Cap was never really going to shine in Avengers because his real strength is in being a leader and they were only a team for a very small part of the movie.

What funny is that's kind of how Cyclops turned out in the X-Men movies.

But still I pointed out my issue with Cap in his movie and Avengers.
I thought Joss was going to work in more bad ass. The Loki fight had me giddy until he took that ass whippin. Maybe he'll perfect his special hand to hand fighting combat in his next movie. <shrug>

Thor was just so popcorny. Pun intended.

Yeah, I'm just bitter, I actually liked Forever more than the original Batman and was shouted down around here for it. I'm a fan of Jim Carrey's schtick, and as the Riddler I thought it was perfect casting. It was campy, sure, but I thought it felt like a comic book. B&R was, as you say, just an awful bit of filmmaking.

Burton's Batman had Jack, sure, and had a good bit of camp...but Prince? Really?

You know the first three were fine with me cause at least Batman was still serious about crime. In Batman and Robin, when he whipped out the iceskates and the Bat card. I hung my head.

Both of them were awesome, and the reviews of those movies reflected it.

My only big gripe with the Avengers is how Thor got back to earth: "Because the plot said so."

I'm glad they at least gave a token mention to Natalie Portman's character.

So, what movies are confirmed moving forward?

They're also trying to get Ant-man and Guardians of the Galaxy off the ground.

Edgar Wright was supposed to be doing Ant Man for ages now, but is he doing that for Marvel or does someone else have the rights?

I think the only serious miss step was when they had black widow...
up at the portal machine...i mean...she should have met back up with Hawkeye and helped him out when he ran out of arrows for all I cared. Cap would have eventually through "that machine is our primary target, I'm going after it."

I think it was a missed opportunity for Cap to have used his shield for something more important than just reflecting lasers / bashing monsters - throw it up into the energy stream making the portal...it reflects back into the machine and destroys/fucks it up. Flicks it up into the air like a spinning coin...stark manages to grab it on his way back down...has another snarky line about him having a senior moment and misplacing it or something after hulk wakes him up instead of the whole "shawarma" thing.

I just would have made Cap being there have more impact.

I'm pretty sure they've already fit another in Capt America movie after they wrap up filming for Thor 2. Which is supposed to have a decent amount of SHIELD in it. So it'll be like Avengers: Down Time.

I like your point of where he should have been. But I wouldn't have changed anything about how it was resolved.
Now maybe if there was some Elite guard up there so he could get him a cool fight scene in. Show some super solider prowess.

But still, you can also look at it like, that was a normie human hero tasks. Black Widow or Hawkman type work. Cap is "supposed" to be one of the "super" heroes. Wiping out threats as they arise.

Flash movie, done right, would be the best superhero movie since Unbreakable. But it would flop because of how silly it would be. You can remove the Cosmic treadmills and the talking Gorillas, it wouldn't be Flash without it. Look at John Carter and Green Lantern. People blame the marketing, but the audiences are not willing to check anything out because of marketing.

Captain America at least had a script and was trying. Thor was just a 120 minute advertisement. It didn't even bother with having decent set-pieces. That Frost Giant fight scene could have been from an Asylum movie.

Both Kevin Feige and Edgar Wright want to make Ant-man, even after all this time in development. I guess we'll have to wait till after The World's End, the third Cornetto movie. I wonder if they will have Hank Pym or the awesome one.

After the massive failure of John Carter and Green Lantern, don't expect a space superhero movie starring a Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

And that is sad
