I'm reading no Netflix on the thing, not even through the browser. That really makes me think again. Even at $99, if all it can do is email and light web surfing, I can do that now on my crappy phone.

Yep. Still bought one at $99. Looks like people are trying to port Android to it, and frankly - I can convert video to it, I'll putz with it that way. It'll be a good device for my parents to just quick browse the net.

Want one of these pretty bad. I am in the hospital with my wife and baby but I hope I see some site offer them today. I can't run out to any stores right now.

Looks like they're already completely sold out online. (Slickdeals saw to that) There are 2 Staples within 20 miles of me that the website claims still has 32GB versions, but Staples never seems to be on the ball about these things, and I don't feel like arguing with a manager about a tablet I don't even really care about. Probably won't bother.

Does it play any video easily? Battery life? Anyone have a good review for this thing?

Ideally, what I would want it for is to bring to work to watch a tv show or two during my lunchhour, and to maybe bring to a coffee shop for a quick browse on the net and to do a little IRC chatting.

Thoughts?

Video is easy after it is converted with Handbrake. No IRC app that I can find so you'll be stuck there. Browses nice though and the battery isn't great but I'll bet it will suit your needs.

I had one in my cart from HP last night, but ended up deciding against it. I could't think of a situation where I wouldn't be steps from my PC that I wouldn't just use my phone instead.

Well, I hate doing this but if someone sees an extra one around I will pay for the hassle. It's a shot in the dark but it would be awesome to have one. Either model. Radioshack had one but they wouldnt give it to me for $99.

Looks like Best Buy doesn't want to support it and are returning the stock of Touchpads they have:

Saw that coming. I used a palm pre for two years - webOS is a shitty os. Not even close to on par with android or iOS.

Fiction? No. I have one, used it a few times today. That said, there were people at Walmart buying 2-3 at a time. It was nuts.
