It will be interesting to see how this performs. I could actually see it outselling the 3DS, especially in Japan. However, in the US and Europe I'm not sure it will do all that well. It could still outsell the 3DS here, but that's not exactly an accomplishment at this point.

I am saddened by this because I was really looking forward to playing something new. The PSP release list is pretty much empty between now and January.

That it is. Aside from Persona 2 I can't think of a single game scheduled to come out. Damn it, SEGA, localize Valkyria Chronicles 3 already.

I'm fine with this. Better to wait and launch when there are some games then launch ASAP like Nintendo did with the 3DS, which as far as I'm concerned still isn't ready.

Hasn't the PSP release list been dead for a long time? I think Kingdom Hearts was the last title that got a decent (for PSP) marketing push (deservedly).

Yes. It's been dead for a while. That is what Sony has to fix this time around. They need to solve the software droughts the PSP experienced throughout its life-cycle. I hope the iOS like games can fill some of those software deficient months.

You never were. Japan always gets Playstation systems first then the rest of the world later. Sony has yet to show they can handle a Worldwide launch.

There were a few good releases earlier this year: Tactics Ogre, Legend of Heroes, Dissidia 2, FFIV Complete, Patapon 3, Ys I & II, and even late last year after KH with God of War: Ghost of Sparta and Ys: Oath of Felghana. But over the past few months it's been completely dead. I can't even think of a single game coming out for the PSP at all in the US other than Persona 2. There's plenty in Japan, and some things I'd love to see localized, like VC3 or Half Minute Hero 2, but who knows if we'll ever see those.

Seems you missed E3 2006 when Sony announced a worldwide release for the PS3.

It does when people expected a worldwide release for Vita when as I pointed out, even when Sony wanted to.... they couldn't pull off a worldwide release for any of their systems so it was silly to even expect it.
