Warhammer 40K Space Marine Cinematic Trailer

THQ and Relic have released a new cinematic trailer for Warhammer 40K Space Marines. I have no real background with the property, so some of what's in the trailer went over my head, but it's still a good cinematic trailer.

Warhammer 40K Space Marines will be released September 6.

Indeed. Obviously the DOW series is doing good for them on PC, but their last console outing, before this and Kill Team, was the pretty bland FPS Fire Warrior, which held no real appeal unless you were a fan of the universe.
I really hope this ships enough across all formats to make them want to explore the universe in other types of games. I would give both of BigJonno's testes for a Mass Effect style inquisitor game.

I'd also recommend scanning through this video showing off the armor customization. While I'm super excited to make me own made up chapters and fancy up the existing ones, I'm expecting a ton of day glow disco marines.

It has co-op of some sort, apparently. Unfortunately they have been very, very quiet about what form it will take. Rumours abound that it isn't going to ship with co-op, it will be DLC at a later date.

Yup. That's what has people concerned. I think the single player will be pretty good. I think the multiplayer videos seem a bit....weak. Co-op they're just remaining tight lipped about.
I'm still buying it, and really looking forward to it, I just wonder if the other modes may be tacked on.
Then again, they have been rolling info out in waves so.....

I've heard some rumors about the space marine in this not being a "normal space marine" and having... I dunno, more emotions or some bullshit. There is also a prominent female (an Imperial Guard lieutenant, who advises the Space Marines) character, and I think some kind of implied romance between them. Sounds... not very 40kish.

Not entirely. The Ultramarines Omnibus and several Horus Heresy books make it clear that Space Marines can and do frequently experience extreme emotional reactions (it basically fuels the Space Wolves chapter) but they strive to keep it under control. As for the IG advisor/liason, DoW2 had the secretary and later planetary govenor aid the Blood Ravens to such an extent even Avitus, the second-most sourfaced Marine in the game respected her.
