Yeah, because anti-inflammatory drugs don't work unless you put massive amounts of PEDs in them.

This affects my ability to take Overeem seriously.
The amount you would need would cause a serious brain condition that can come up if taking too many anti-inflammatory. And I don't mean a small amount. I mean to get it to his level the dude would have died 11 times before his levels would be that high. Fucking a.

Why didn’t anyone tell me the injectable Advil from Mexico with the picture of a horse on it also contained testosterone?

A professional athlete suggesting that he doesn't know what his physician is putting in his body is either a bold-faced lie or gross negligence on his part. A physician suggesting that he doesn't know exactly what he's injecting in his patients is malpractice.

If Overeem truly didn't know what was going in his body, he'd do his best to make sure his doctor is punished. I don't see that happening.

What is funny is he has already spoke out on steroids in the past with enough knowledge that suddenly pretending he knows nothing is impossible. He basically talked himself into a corner for years...can't have it both ways.

It's not his fault if the horses he was eating were doped up on testosterone.

So, Ultimate Fighter. I usually dislike the "reality" part of the show, particularly the pranks. The Alpha Male workout in Cruz's locker room, however, had me in stitches for some reason. It was a pretty original prank, though, and it looked like it was one that got under Cruz's skin.

Oh, and last night's fight was probably the best of the season so far. I was so sure it would go to a 3rd round, but with a fight that close, I would've been ok with any decision.

Even more mix ups for this event yet again, proving that I am clearly awful luck for any UFC even in which I attend.

Barboza/Varner could end up a crazy bout though. I'm indifferent about Herman vs Nelson. I wanted Nelson to fight at least a name who was coming off a win. To me, this seems like a lose lose situation for Nelson. Nothing to gain, everything to lose. At least with Gonzaga it was a named opponent coming off a win.

So, UFC on Fox. That was a good night of fights overall. Even Cotto/Mayweather was entertaining and relatively close for a Mayweather fight. Cotto made Floyd work and even stole at least 3 rounds away from him.

Diaz looks like the shit, and if he should ever say "Fuck it homie, I want to fight instead of wait," I think a matchup between him and Anthony Pettis would be both epic and appropriate. Otherwise, I don't know if he would beat either Edgar or Bendo, as both are more likely to take him down and avoid his submissions. Wrestling is the Diaz brothers' main weakness.

And the flyweights kicked tons of ass. They're fast, technical, and have a huge gas tank. To me, that's always been fun to watch. I hope this division keeps growing; I hear Shooto's got some pretty good flyweights.

Nick Diaz no-shows another event; this time, it was a BJJ superfight against Braulio Estima. For charity.

What little respect I had left for him is now reserved for his younger brother, who can at least meet his obligations like a man.

The Nick Diaz nuthuggers on Sherdog must be crying bitter tears tonight.

To be honest, I'm surprised he has any fans left. No tact, no grace and no respect for the sport or the people in it.

I don't understand the lengths Diaz's fans will go to try to defend his actions either.
I mean, I get why you might BECOME a fan after watching a few fights, dude's got some skill. But to stay one and defend his actions? I don't see it.

I really hope Nate doesn't fall into the same traps. Seems so far he's avoiding them.

And I am just poking fun at you. He looks like Freddy because when you deal out that much death your physical self begins to reflect your inner self.

Holy shit, Korean Zombie. He's always been fun to watch, but I thought he'd never amount to more than a Leonard Garcia-esque fighter. I've never been so glad to be so wrong. That was a career-defining performance, and pretty much showcased his entire skillset in just 4 rounds. Let's see that title shot.

edit: I still see Aldo winning that fight though. He's just on another level.

Did not see this. But the flying knee brought me a pure case of 'Insta Smile'.
I love showing it to students. They always ask "How can something so telegraphed work so well?" It gives me a smile to explain just why it does indeed work. Same with the Superman punch. Any attack that looks like a BUNCH of attacks is a dangerous thing.

Korean Zombie is easily my favorite fighter to watch. He is consistently exciting, and you can see he is clearly evolving as a fighter. That second round was one of the most exciting rounds I've seen in a long time. That exchange they had in the clinch, the flying knee, and then Poirier going for that power double leg, only to have the Korean Zombie pull off a gorgeous reversal right into full mount. He fights like a guy out of a fucking video game!

He definitely slowed down by the end of the 3rd round and start of the 4th though. While it may have just been issues with his difficult weight cut, it would be nice to see him work on his cardio if he plans on going for another 5 round fight.

On a side note, it was nice to see Cerrone pull off a victory and looking like his regular self. Took next to no damage and was fighting his fight. Hopefully we'll see him again soon against a more formidable opponent.
