As someone who hasn't played this yet but went ahead and watched Yahtzee's review...does this game really use a portal gun? I've already been hearing that Darksiders is awesome...mostly because it rips off established awesome games. These are not my words, just what my friends have told me. I haven't tried it yet and therefore don't hold my own opinion thus far.

And while I will always admit that Twilight Princess was a tad stale and lacked "filling" in the form of more enemies and points of interest in many areas, it's still one of my favorite Zelda games by far. It makes me sad to see it dismissed so readily.

Eh, this site thought the writing in Dragon Age was brilliant, don't put too much weight in their words.

I've seen a lot of talk about the portal gun, I haven't gotten that far yet, can only play it in bursts.

You know what? Go to hell. Calling people clueless for their opinion, when you're in the minority, is just fucking silly. The Dragon Age writing was exceptional for a video game, but video game writing still has a long way to go. If you don't recognize that the Dragon Age writing was above par for a game, you're smoking some serious shit. Some of us are tired of the way Zelda handles things, even if they've been some of our favorite games. I couldn't even finish TP, because I was bored.

I've been over this a thousand times, the plot makes no god damn sense whatsoever, every major decision has a cop out option making the whole grimdark setting a joke, and since we're talking about "stale" then lets talk about the stock Bioware party members they've managed to trot out almost every game.

I find the DS Zelda games to be much more satisfying for scratching the old Zelda itch than Twilight Princess ever did (esp. Spirit Tracks). Of course, I like the Windwaker art style a hell of a lot more than I did the non-twilight realm art design in Twilight Princess, so a chunk of it is the aesthetics.

I hated the unnecessary touch screen only controls in the DS Zelda. Let me use the buttons!

Heh. I have the odd time when I try to use a button but I've adapted and actually like the touch screen controls a good 85-90% of the time. It's only the odd time where they make me want to snap a stylus in half and I found Spirit Tracks was much better for the health of the stylus compared to Phantom Hourglass.

I just think there should be at least the option to control movement with the dpad. It's just more accurate and easier to use.

Yes, there is a portal gun. It's called Voidwalker.

No, many of us just think you are wrong. Which is entirely different.

I wasn't that interested in the game until this review. I remember OoC fondly but haven't played any Zelda since then. I'll check it out when it's cheaper.

I get the God of War ripoff comments, but didn't that like, rip off DMC as hard as anything.

Funny review, I liked war though, It's like Fenix went to the Venetian carnival in AC2.

That was funny as hell, but nothing can possibly beat "I am a monster truck that walks like a man!"

The review is pretty spot on.

I've only got so far through the game, enjoying it a ton, but I am constantly picking up bits and what games they are from.

So far I have

Soul Reaver series - puzzles, platforming
Combat - DMC, GOW
Zelda - equipment, hookshot, puzzles, platforming, shooting, horse
Portal - equipment
Generic FPS - shooting sections

It even has Tremors thrown in to boot!

Still its all broken up and handles rather well that together it makes a well rounded game thats tons of fun to play.

Don't forget to add Shadow Of The Colossus (during the 'Tremors' boss fight) and Panzer Dragoon.

I really liked those "generic FPS" sections. At least more than the game they were based on:P

That was pretty good. I especially loved how he put his own picture on the Japanese love pillow.
