Not a game, but this app lets me DJ like a mad cunt. It might not rock Ibiza, but it's definitely good enough for something like a house or pool party (provided you've got the iPad hooked up to a decent sound system). And it's so easy to use! Even the built in Automix feature isn't bad.
Only thing is it's $20. And even still it's amazing for what it's capable of doing. |

Wow, that looks nice. Not something I typically have a use for, but it seems like it's really well put together. Are you using the touch controls, or an external controller like that sick Numark-branded number on the site?

Just touch controls. I don't think I'm ready for a physical controller or the price tag just yet. The touch controls are actually quite responsive. I know shitall about scratching, but there's a really cool auto-scratching feature that makes you sound good even if you're doing random stuff.
So this was what I came up with a few hours after studying a couple of Youtube videos. I stitched a few house tracks in my iPad together. It still sounds like crap. http://snd.sc/MUN6i8 I do plan to get a DJ splitter cable. It'll give me the ability to actually cue the next song instead of just haphazardly adding it on. I've got the splitter cable now. Being able to cue makes a big difference. It's a legit way of learning how to match beats and DJ if you've got an iPad and $30.
I thought about getting that controller once I get the hang of things, but then I saw this: ![]() It's supposed to come out this fall. Me gusta... |

Djay is fantastic. I've been using it for years. I made pre-recorded mixes for my brother-in-law's wedding last year, and they were a big hit. It's super easy to make mixes.
And yes, you can't even scratch the surface of the app without the splitter cable. My local Best Buy had open box on of these (http://www.amazon.com/Numark-MIXDECK...3942785&sr=8-1) for $300. I was seriously considering pulling the trigger...but this iPad drop-in unit from Numark is tempting. |

I'm getting ready to fly down to LA for SIGGRAPH on Saturday and I picked it up for some airplane amusement. I'll give you some feedback once I've had a chance to play with it some. I've also stuck the C64 version on my ipad for some compare and contrast time -- I haven't played that game in at least 20 years.

Spy vs Spy: it's pretty much what I rember without the hassle of the AI player beating me to death constantly. It's a lot of fun and a game only takes a few minutes. I played a game or two multiplayer and it seemed to have some lag issues. Could just be the overloaded network we were on at the time, though. It also seemed that the booby trap effects were a bit understated, even in classic mode.
I'd recommend it if you liked the original back in the day but I'm not sure how it would fare without some nostalgia there. |

I'm hopelessly hooked on Kairosoft's new sim, Cafeteria Nipponica. I haven't been this hooked since Game Dev Story; it hits the sweet spot between accessibility and depth.

Picked up Simpsons: Tapped Out. It's a free to play title from EA. Add me as I could use some other Springfield's to visit.
Also grabbed World Series Of Poker from EA...could use some friends there as well if you like playing poker. |

No idea. Don't play Smurfs. So far, I'm at level 16 and haven't spent a penny. You basically build your own springfield and then send the characters off to do jobs that grant you in-game cash and xp. With that, you build more stuff to get more characters to do more jobs to build more buildings and so on and so forth.
Is that anything like Smurfs? |
