Do/did you have an iPhone before the iPad? I do on occasion have the same trouble you're talking about, but you subconsciously learn to place your finger appropriately after a while.

It's Space Weather!

I've been playing a ton of iPad games lately. Anomaly: Warzone Earth HD is an interesting twist on the tower defense genre, works great with touch controls, and looks gorgeous on the iPad 2.
The other two games I've been playing are both ports of indie PC games. Both hold up exceptionally well in the transition to the iPad. The first is Machinarium, which any fan if point & click adventure games should be familiar with. The second is SpaceChem, and it's one of the best puzzle games I've played in ages. The developer has accomplished that incredibly rare feat of designing puzzles that are difficult to solve, but also have non-unique solutions. So even once you've solved a puzzle, there's still an incentive to replay it and see if you can find a more efficient solution. |

SpaceChem is on the iPad????
That's dangerous...though, I suppose I could just remote into my desktop and play it like that

Just downloaded spacechem thanks for that. Couldn't get into it on PC, but it's awesome on the pad.
I already beat Anamoly Warzone Earth on PC, and frankly there isn't too much replay value there so indent think ill be picking that up. Get Boxed In HD while it's free, great little puzzler. Also Tower Defense is an aptly named and actually pretty damn addictive TD game. I've been spending quite a bit of time with video apps lately, some amazing stuff like TED and PBS (watch Hugh Laurie's Let Them Talk and Prohibition on PBS. Fantastic shows.) Also, figured out how to get the Overdrive app working with the Brooklyn Public Library, so now I can check out ebooks on the fly, which is awesome.

The TED app is great. Always seems to be a ton of content that interests me on there.
I shall have to check out the PBS app. |

Scribblenauts Remix.
I missed this on Gameboy, and now I'm kind of glad because apparently this is the definitive edition. And I'm sure those of you who have experienced it in whatever form would agree, for those that haven't it is a wonder. |

I also bought Scribblenauts Remix today. Can't say I liked it much, extremly simple puzzles, played through the whole game very quick. I must say I'm a bit surprised, since everybody says it's such a great game. Or are the DS games much different than this?

The DS games weren't terribly hard. Two game modes, and no hidden stuff: Just get the starite in as much time as it takes and move on. So simplistic in some ways. It's really more about the experience. It's a completely unique game, which encourages imagination than more than just about anything other game, ever. But Super Scribblenauts was a far, far better game. I don't know which one the iPad version emulates. |

I'd pay 10 bucks just for the freedom to play in the main menu, but that's just me. I think that it's far more interesting to see the AI reactions to scenarios I craft in Scribblenauts than say flinging a bird at some blocks or slicing some fruit. |

You guys are the awesome; I officially crown Spacechem is the best puzzle game I've ever played.
It's the first time, I think, I played a puzzle game where the way you get to the solution is completely open ended. I got stuck on one later level and I looked up a solution on Youtube because I got really frustated after an hour of fiddling with it, and out of the 6 or so videos of that level, every single one of them had a different solution, some slightly varied and some completely different. One thing that gets me is that Spacechem makes me feel stupid... do you guys spend hours trying to solve a puzzle as well? Onwards: I've been spending a lot of time with Puzzle Quest lately... even though I beat it on the PSP, that was ages ago, so I'm replaying it. I didn't particularly like the second iteration on the PC, so I just grabbed the first one. Also, you guys gotta get Stupid Zombie(s), it's free. Awesome time killer. Contract Killer and Contract Killer Zombies are both free and pretty cool for some random shooting. Quote:

Okay, FIFA12 is fantastic on this device...so crazy to be playing something so pretty/playable on the iPad.
I love it...though I only paid $4.99 for it and not the going rate of $12.99 |

For anyone who's a fan of Trials HD, Bike Baron is a lot of fun. Same mechanics in a more cartoony environment. It does a great job of balancing fun and frustration (although I'm starting to find the levels in the Hard tier pretty excruciatingly difficult).
I'm picking up an iPad 2 for my wife today (my own iPad is a launch-day original model), so I'm keen to install some games to see how big the improvement is... |

I picked up Epoch today, and was very pleasantly surprised. It's essentially Infinity Blade as a cover shooter, but without the inconvenience of aiming with a touch screen. Instead, it focuses on the cover mechanics, which are very intuitive and very good. Hopefully some updates will give it more variety in the future, though.
