Brink "A Matter of Class" Trailer

Another new trailer for Brink, this time showing off the game's class and character creation system. You choose a "body" - small, medium or large - and then choose a class - soldier, operative, medic or engineer - then choose your look. Your look can be taken from one of several pre-make archetypes, or you can design your character from the ground up.

Brink will be released May 17 for the 360, PS3 and PC.

Yeah that really does look like Enemy Territory. Of course, to me that's not a bad thing. Far from it.

This is my most anticipated game of the year. I am really hoping it doesn't disappoint.

Yep, this ranks in my top 3 most anticipated games right now, and I'm chomping at the bit. Damn, it's looking fun.

I like when a dev starts touting character customization, but forgets to add a female model to the game. Classy.

This is the next big MP FPS.

I played both ET and Quake Wars so many hours, more than TF2 by far. I can't wait to see how this game feels, but it looks good so far.

Still looking forward to this but somehow I feel that Brink blew its advertising load too early and now I feel a bit jaded towards it.

That's a legitimate concern. It was originally supposed to be out late last summer, and a lot of news around it seemed to point towards that. I worry that the delay may harm it, but it looks solid and it's coming out at a good time of the year so hopefully my fears are for naught.

That makes sense, I remember seeing gaming sites splashed with the typical pre-release theme months and months ago. Almost feels like it is out already.

Honestly...I think seeing women constantly getting killed and having whatever assorted videogame carnage imparted on them is pretty off putting.

yeah, they're pretty set in their ideas of what "thin and muscular" is with their stylization, aren't they?

Looks like that Desert Crisis mod for Half-Life 1 that came out three thousand years ago but with a bit less customization.

I'm all for the style and mechanics of this game, but the gameplay in that video looks a bit awkward. I'm not just talking about the cumbersome way that medic healed the guy- the actual shooting element seems to have some stiffness that I've come to dislike in other games.

Definitely a "try before you buy" affair for me, though I'm very hopeful for the end product.

Representing half the population is a helluva lot more important than your discomfort (which I'll admit to sharing.)

I hate to say it considering how much I've been anticipating this game, but I completely agree. Everything about that video looks terrible. The shots of the map made it look small and unadorned, the characters looked extremely rigid, and the animations looked like something out of the first Half-Life.

With this video alone I went from extremely excited to very worried about Brink.

This looked generic as hell, while I was kinda hoping it would really be different.

i have to agree, altough i was trying to not be too excited about brink, because i didnt really like qw:et, this was one of my most anticipated games of 2011. the video however didnt do anything for me. the animations and general flow felt a bit off, hopefully this will change
