Here's a little theremin for the rest of us. This optical, analog device can create those freaky space-like sounds we all know and love... but is affordable and pocketable.

I'd be lying if I said I'd never thought about getting a theremin (or building my own), but this left me a little unimpressed. I'm not sold on the idea of an optical version just yet.

There should be a theremin iphone app. It's gonna be more popular than Angry Birds.

For serious. Any modern phone has all the elements necessary to build an optical theremin.
