You don't need multiple clients, you only need Mumble. I'm trying to guide CoG to using the Mumble server for all their PC voice comms.

You say that and then if I play LoL everybody wants me to use Skype, then if I play something else everybody wants me to use teamspeak3.

It isn't a matter of need, it is a matter of preference and those vary.

Even if everybody on CoG drank the kool-aid and switched to mumble we'd still need other clients for doing stuff with non-coggers. I just install all of them, not like they take up space/resources, and configure each of them to use exactly the same binds.

Yeah, are the multiple programs using up your precious megaflops or something?

I just started playing again tonight. Do I just suck now or did assault rifles get a slight nerf? It seems like I was getting more spread, but I also use a suppressor 90% of the time, so I'm not sure if it was a gun nerf or a modified suppressor trade-off.

Suppressor isn't 'I win' anymore. Use foregrip + flash supressor for best control. Penalizes long range accuracy tho.

I never thought the suppressor was an 'I win' attachment as the trade off for stopping power was already there, but thanks for the heads up. I guess they needed to give people a reason to use the (previously) lame heavy barrel attachment.

I'm not sure the flash suppressor will get much use with me though, still. Muzzle flash isn't as big of a give away as map pings from sound are.

Heavy barrel is/was lame? Crap, I pick it quite often.

I thought it was lame near launch, I was able to hit targets at range w/o it so I never saw much advantage to it, especially when the suppressor kept me off the map.

It seems like now it might be more worth it as they seemed to have upped spread on ARs quite a bit.

What I meant was suppressor was a no brainer. If you ever watch a competitive match, it's that + foregrip all the way before the patch.

Ah I see what you meant. That was my combination 90% of the time. I think I'll switch to heavy barrel over flash suppressor. I know I don't key on people based on muzzle flash too much so I can assume other people don't do it that often either. I might as well take the range advantage.

I'm curious if the AN-94 isn't a waste of space after the patch. I know I gave it more than a fair shake pre-patch and it was just never worth it.

This weekend's double XP event was pretty decent. I managed to grind out recon and support to get the SOFLAM and mortar so I can finally finish out those assignments, as well as rank up almost 5 times.

But what's up with the M26 DART spam on Karkand? Specifically that map, it's all anyone beyond 45 was using. It didn't really matter, it was just peculiar.

There's a bug with it. Basically it's a 1 hit kill from any distance. Lots of lamers using it.

Man, that's still going on? That happened last time I played several weeks ago. Seems like something they would have patched out by now.

Yeah don't know who to blame, DICE or EA. Pretty retarded and seems like a no-brainer quickfix. Way to treat your customer base, guys.

I used the double XP weekend to finish my support and recon service stars.

Then I turned my attention to getting stars on as many individual weapons as I could. Got to 19 by the end of the last day, racking up 114 P90 kills in the last hour of the event...

So, Premium launched, and came with a video detailing the new maps and modes for the next DLC pack (next week for Premium, 2 weeks for regular) Close Quarters. 4 maps, 10 weapon assignments and 2 game modes.

Gun Master looks hilarious. Everyone starts with a pistol and you rank up by killing. Ranking up gives you more powerful weapons. You work your way up to a knife. First person to get a knife kills wins. The video mentioned it was 16 player, and I can't see it getting larger than that and maintaining some form of fun.
There's also a toned down version of Conquest. Less cap points and they cap faster, and there's no bases.

As for maps, there's a multi-level office building which includes an underground parking structure so you can traverse between sections and cubicles that offer no protection whatsoever.
There's also a skybar on top of a hotel. The map layout is Wake Island, but two levels and you can move across the central courtyard.
There's an old fortress that has a catacomb underneath and is pretty basic.
The steelmill map is effectively 2Fort, but with multiple bridges, some big and some small.

Battlelog also got a facelift, and the game got a 2GB patch.

All in all, this summer should be fun.

Gun master is just a clone of gun game from CS, and gun game has been the only reason anyone should play CS for years now.

That said, reverse gun game is the only way gun game should be played.

Ugh, Close Quarters. Do not want, and if I did I'd buy CoDBLOPS. MOAR biggie-vehicly maps!
