What makes you think they don't? People using Windows complain about MS all the time. People who have iPhone's complain about AT&T all the time. The mere fact that they use his product and are intimately familiar with his contribution in many ways makes them better suited to comment on his worthiness.

When I saw The Social Network I teased my friend "maybe the movie will finally explain why they don't support animated gifs". I use Facebook all the time...love it....but I complain about it all the time because it's so familiar to me.
