PS Vita Thread - Page 60

Just wrapped up Uncharted. Really enjoyed it overall save for a few minor annoyances. I'm only about half-way through collecting everything though I'm not sure if I'll try and hunt for them or not. Usually I leave that stuff alone but they were fun to hunt for in this than they were in others.

Picked up Rayman also since after playing the demo I had to. It's awesome. Likely my favorite game for the system right now, but I'm a huge sucker for side-scrollers and the graphics are great.

Rayman may be the last thing I pick up for a while since I can't think of anything I'm overly anxious to play. After Heretic posted the Gravity Rush trailer in the 1.2 Million thread that is now an absolute, so that may be my next purchase.

I keep forgetting about SH: Book Of Memories. It's not a done deal but it is intriguing. The nice thing about going digital is that I don't have to make a special trip to the store and can see how it is first.

I can't find myself ever going fully digital, but I do like how I'm able to play demos for (most of) the games first to see. With the DS/3DS, I'd really only buy safe bets and then do a load of research before hand. And even then I'd still end up screwed from time to time.

I'll still rent games I'm just curious about. In Book Of Memories case, it could be really good (if different) or a disaster. I can grab it quickly if it gets good buzz or just wait and rent it if things seem to be all over the place.

Book of Memories is really borderline to me. I don't know too much about it, but what I've read has me curious but not completely sold. Now I love me some SH, but the style of the game gives me pause and I rarely do multi so I'm not sure how solo-oriented the experience is.

They basically make the only DSi/3DSware games worth playing. Also, Shantae was pretty damn cool.

Ah, okay. That may be why I hadn't heard of them/played anything. May have to give it another look then.

I just finished Uncharted last night, myself. Was not happy with the constant screen-swiping during the end battles (and no checkpoints), but I'm through it and done.

It was fun. I can't think of a reason to go back to it, though, except if I'm wanting to show it off. My next Vita game is going to be Unit 13, which comes out Tuesday. Until then I have a couple more soldier classes to get up to level 4 in the demo.

So apparently Satoshi Sakai, the producer of Phantasy Star Online 2, will be at next week's Vita presentation. Interesting.

I'm halfway through the game and I just realized that you can collect treasures that glow during cut scenes by tapping on them. This is definitely a second play-through kind of game for me.

Yeah, it wasn't until late into the 20s that I realized you could do that. Would explain why I was having such a hard time locating some of the treasures in the earlier parts. They were right in front of me the whole time.

I agree about the swiping (Swiper, no!) though I do like how that allowed them to give a bit of a cinematic feel to the final battle(s), so I come out split on it. I definitely enjoyed the game enough to want to hold onto it and replay it alongside the others.

I'm anxious to see how people take to Unit 13. The demo was pretty underwhelming/mediocre to me and the only reason right now I can see picking it up is it's the first of its genre on the system. If I hear otherwise and see good reviews, I may have to give it a second look.

Either Lumines or Rayman are my two favorites, personally.
